Good location, less than a 10 minute walk to Plaza de Catalonia. Found some excellent places to eat in the immediate area of the hotel. Some of the hotel staff were a bit less than helpful in answering questions about how to get to places in the immediate vicinity. Hotel is located on a vary major street, the soundproofing in our room was excellent, could not hear the traffic noise at all. Easy access to busses and taxis. Very clean, comfortable room, excellent bed.

This place was a joke. During our stay, my mother fell on the hotel steps because there was liquid on the steps and broke her leg, yet never once did ANYBODY in the hotel inquire if she needed help, a doctor, an ambulance, etc., nor did anybody ask how she was or go out of his or her way to help. Instead, we received very rude treatment and were not given information about the hotel (the name of the manager, the name of the owner) when we asked. Additionally, the liquid on the steps remained there for days; clearly, nobody in the hotel went to go see what had happened on the steps and so it remained a hazard for others! Also, the main elevator was in and out of service, and when we asked what to do (mother on crutches), the desk clerk said, "you'll have to take the steps." When my mother reminded her that she couldn't get up the steps with crutches, the desk clerk just shrugged. We had a miserable experience there. You'd think that when a person falls on YOUR steps, you'd go out of your way to take care of that person. I emphatically do NOT recommend this hotel.

This was the same star rating and nowhere near Sofitels level. Hotel was old, run down, bed was broken on the left side, my husband felt like he was falling out of it all night long. Were on our honeymoon and was only given another option of a room with two twin beds which left us wondering how on Earth they managed to fit those two beds in that teeny room..Rooms were very small and terribly outdated. Smelled of strong smoke. Very loud construction going on in the hotel which made for an unpleasant stay. We requested a wake up call the am of our departure and they never called making us very late in our day. Had to change flight time and the hotel wouldn't even call the airlines for us to find out what time we needed to be there. They knew we were scrambling but didn't seem to care. Aside from the hotel being in a good location it was a bad experience all the way around. Not the way to celebrate your honeymoon.

Good value hotel Fantastic city - beautiful buildings and architecture. Make use of the open-top buses around the city. They enable you to hop on and off at all the popular sites. 2 day ticket good value for money.

Price doesn't include VAT and Breakfast. Single rooms are too small

The rooms are very basic and small. No tea/coffee making facilities, bathroom small and nothing but shower gel in it, hairdryer only has cold air (pointless), bar closes at 10pm and it covered by the receptionist. On my last night I was back at about 9.15pm and the bar was closed because the receptionist said he was too busy to cover it! Breakfast served till 10am and if you are a minute late forget it as the lady serving has to cover the receptionist's break. The service and staffing are a joke. Management would want to get their act together and employ some more staff. Don't be fooled by the pictures on websites as my room was tiny. The lobby is the nicest part of the hotel.

An all round good place to stay. We stayed at the Caledonian for a weekend trip which included watching Barcelona at the Nou Camp. Before even leaving England I was impressed with Caledonian's willingness to help as they happily agreed to accept delivery of the tickets and hold them for me. This happened to be a life saver as the booking agency wouldn't send them to England! Caledonian also provided rooms with 3 beds in perfect to divide our travelling 9. And it was by no means cramped, more than enough room for 3 in a room. The hotel was a short walk from La Ramblas which was perfect and wasn't expensive to get a taxi to and from the airport. Staff were helpful whenever we need. The only downside I can find is that the entire hotel seems to be run by 1 person at a time meaning the Receptionist is also the barman meaning a little waiting and also the bar shuts really early. However that wasn't a problem as there are more than enough bars outside the hotel. All in all a great trip helped by a good hotel.

We booked two rooms, both clean and nicely presented. One at the front of the hotel had great views and a large balcony but was above a noisy traffic junction. The other at the back of the hotel had OK views, a smaller balcony but was much quieter. We

basic hotel good location The hotel is situated perfectly near to Catalunya square but not too close for all the noise making it a good place to get to after being out late at night. Staff were helpful and friendly but the bed was very very small even for someone who is just average height.
