Barcelona City Centre Hostal

+ Good location away from hub of city centre but centre still easily accessible. 5 mins from metro and about 20 mins walking to centre of ramblas hostel was clean and quiet for the money, location and service the hostel was fair - One of the staff was rude and we were not allowed to talk in hallway horrible window view of boiler and you could hear its noise 2 shower was loose and kept falling off and drainage was poor, kept gathering water we had asked for 3 single beds but got 2 double, 1 single and half a bed. they were a bit unconfortable only one room access card given between the 3 of us.

+ The room it self was lovely and spacious.very clean and tidy - First impressions of location and exterior of building was very poor.the front facade is in dire need of facelift and there is nothing on front to say its the hostal.the lift althogh very old and quaint only added to our impending doom.this all changed though when we were shown our lovely room.

very close to the center of the city, but too noisy. There were no reception employees in the night!!!!

+ Due to the very nice emails i've received from the staff of the city centre hostal before my arrival it was very easy to find it. i was shown to my room, which was actually even better than i expected, staff was nice and helpful, and the hotel was located very close to the so called city centre. i would definitely recommend it, and definitely would stay there during my next visit to barcelona :)

+ Good value for money - Big noise from the street due to insufficient isolation and quality of windows. the noise is coming from visitors of balmes club and from traffic.

+ Basic accommodation, very clean, friendly helpful staff.

+ Friendly staff. - Very difficult to find. only small label above a door bell button. not good at 10 oclock at night

+ Staff nice and friendly but not imposing, we booked in with ease, everything about the hostal was explained the receptionist answered any questions about where local facilities were located and explained the best way to get to the most popular tourist places from the hostal. after that we were left to enjoy our holiday at our own pace knowing the staff were there to help if needed.

+ Staff extremely helpful. read reviews of previous people, one mentioned staff smoking, there was no evidence of that. - Nothing negative

some of the other guests were very loud, even late at night. Together with the thin walls, this created a considerable nuisance for us. Otherwise we were satisfied with service and personnel.
