Balmes Hotel Barcelona

+ Nice central location for my needs

This is a lovely hotel. The only thing to note was the fact that you couldn't see what the weather was like through the window as you couldn't see the sky.

+ Excellent cleaning staff and very pleasant rooms - Rooms were described as sound-proof however we could clearly hear next door getting up and turning the tv on at 5am

+ Location very good - Room was small and faced onto the road. Far too noisy.

Superb have stayed there 3 times now!

+ My friends and i were quite satisfied with our stay but i must say we found the rooms rather pricey. we stayed 5 nights and the prices varied per night from 95euros for 2 nights 145 euros for 2 nights and one night wepaid 155euros.this did not include any breakfast which we felt was over the top price wise. we were also told if we wanted a room at the back of the hotel were it was quieter it was another 20 euros per night per room. too expensive for what we got.

+ Great location if you are wanting a quieter location but close enough to walk to centre. lovely outdoor area with patio and pool area. - Unfortunately our room was not totaly soundproofed. the website states that all rooms are soundproofed, this is incorrect. when we arrived we were offered a room at the back of the hotel for an extra 20 euros per night. we did not take up this offer!

The room was very hot - the aircon didn't cool. I didn't mind, but my colleagues thought it was much too hot.

+ Easy to book. Close to the city. Very nice breakfast. Ok. - No

+ The staff were very helpful and pleasant. the decor is also quite relaxing and inviting.
