Aparthotel Acacia

Aparthotel Acacia

Comte D'Urgell, 194 - 08036 Barcelona

The Acacia aparthotel is located in the heart of L'Eixample district, near the financial area of Barcelona. The property was founded in 1998 and offers a really charming, welcoming interior and the most modern facilities, such as Wi-Fi Internet access in the whole building. Moreover, the hotel provides a solarium terrace where guests can sunbathe and relax, as well as two meeting rooms.

Requested room (non-smoking, back of hotel) was not ready when promised, so we went out to eat. When we came back to see our room, it was obviously a smoking room as the air reaked of cigarette smoke. By this time there were no other non smoking rooms available on the back side of the hotel away from the street so we had to settle with a room facing the street. The room was fairly quiet except for ambulance sirens (hotel is near a hospital) and motorcycle noise (numerous in Barcelona). We arrived at the hotel after 10 hours of traveling, so we were anxious to get into our room to wash up and relax before we went out to eat. The ensuing problem with the hotel room not being ready, and then not getting the requested room was very disappointing.

The staff was incredibly helpful, going out of their way with both travel assistance and directions. All staff we encountered spoke English, but were pleased at our attempts at Spanish. Location is pleasant, though not as central as I'd imagined, but still not difficult to get to common tourist places. The room was gorgeous, lots of space for three people, with a mini kitchen area and beautiful bathroom. Restaurants in the immediate area are a little limited, and there is a hospital nearby, so sirens could be a problem occasionally. Overall, the best hotel we stayed at in Spain and France.

The Acacia Aparthotel provided an excellent base for my wife and 13 yar old daughter on a recent 4 day trip to Barcelona. It is close to the subway system and there are many places to eat nearby. It is important to note that the hotel IS NOT five minutes from Sants station. It is five minutes form the Hospital subway station and not really within walking distance from Sant Station. If you are coming from the airport, get off at the Ave Roma stop and you ARE five minutes from the hotel

I spent 5 days in Barcelona and I decided for Aparthotel Acacia for two main reasons: position, in the heart of modern Eixample district and quality/price ratio. It was an excellent choice (mainly for us, traveling with our teenager daughter) which I warmly recommend.

First time visitor. Suite, exactly as advertised.Clean and well appointed and as pictured. Very friendly and helpful staff, especially front desk and the maid. Great area, close to metro and convenient to sites and shops. Safe area to walk. Wonderful coffee and pastry shop opposite. We would definatly stay here again. English spoken which was very helpful and much appreciated,E

Good value hotel, with a great location so close to the underground stop.

Very near to Metro station. Did not meet anybody cause there was no breakfast room.In fact we thought we were the only persons in hotel. Breakfast is not included in price and the breakfast offered was very poor for the price we paid extra.

Apart from some confusion over the booking we had a fine stay here. The rooms were very comfortable and the children enjoyed playing with the electronic shutters. As someone mentioned earlier unless you are small in stature the shower head may be a little on the low side. I'm a mere 5ft 9in and the head was down to the base of my neck making showertime... limbotime! Other than that there is little to fault the rooms. Location is fine being just a few metres away from the Hospital Clinic metro station on Line 5 (blue) and we never seemed to be more than 2 or 3 stops away from any of the sights we visited. There are several places to eat close by the hotel though you wouldn't necessarily know it during the day as they are shuttered up. There are also several small cafés close by as well as a supermarket (opposite side of the road and turn right from the entrance to the hotel) if you plan to use the rooms kitchen facilities. The rooms have a fridge which is very handy and are stocked as a mini-bar on arrival at the usual extortionate rate. The cooking facilities extend to 2 hotplates (you have to turn the timer on too for them to work) which are adequate for preparing small meals and for boiling water for drinks (there is no kettle) or indeed sterilising medical equipment - if that's the bag you are into... who am I to judge?
