Fenix Porto Hotel
Rua Gonçalo Sampaio 282 - 4150-365 Porto
The city of Porto boasts 2000 years of history. It is closely linked to the founding of the Portuguese nation and has even provided it with the origins of its name. Declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO, this destination well known for the natural and warm hospitality of the local people and its wonderful scenery, particularly along the course of the River Douro, where the grapes used for the famous Port wine are grown. This capital of the north (as it is often called) is the second largest city in a country which has offered the world a guarantee of quality in the major international events it has already hosted. In addition to being the European Capital of Culture in 2001, Porto was also one of the main host cities for the “Euro 2004”.The location of the Hotel Fenix Porto in the cultural, commercial and business center of Boavista is one of its outstanding features. Surrounded by the “Cidade do Porto” and “Peninsula” shopping centers, it is also close to the city’s new cultural center (the “Casa da Musica”) and near the city’s main sports stadium (the Pavilhao Rosa Mota). The airport, the historic area of the city, the Sao Bento railway station and the Port wine cellars are only 15 minutes away. The 148 rooms, which are sizeable and decorated in a comfortable, modern style, include; a minibar, satellite TV, direct dial telephone, hair dryer, air conditioning, coffee/tea making facilities (in suites) and more! The hotel has a breakfast room and a bar with a giant screen TV next to the lobby, which is one of the most pleasant and attractive areas in the building. The hotel also offers the following facilities; the “Premier” health club indoor pool, and office center, private parking, laundry service, tourist information and excursions, individual safes at reception and more!

Staff were helpful and friendly, check-in and check-out quick and effective. Breakfast quite nice. Room was hardly soundproof to noises from inside hotel. Constant music in corridors even at night is not a good idea.
