The hotel is located about 50 Kms from Porto, north of Portugal, near the Douro and Tamega Rivers banks. From the hill where is the hotel we enjoy a wonderful sight ot the river and green mountains. The Hotel is in a Benedictin Convent of XII century and cover an area of 35 ha.( 350000 sq.m.) All decoration of the hotel is an evocation of Medium Age and in the several saloons we can appreciate some very fine pieces bougt by the present owner after to rebuilt the convent that was in ruine. The hotel has rooms in the main building and some houses isolated with a variable number of rooms. Because the rooms were all ocupied I stayed in a small 3 rooms house with 2 couples of friends. The house was too basic and the service to the houses was very poor. I believe that in main building rooms the decoration is much better and service more reliable.
