Lisbon Hotels

There is a wealth of hostels, guesthouses, and hotels in Lisbon. Many tourists like to stay in the charming Alfama district, with its winding medieval alleyways, laundry strung in lines between the whitewashed houses and some of the city's most spectacular churches. Prices in this part of town are higher than elsewhere, but it's worth it for the atmosphere alone. There are some extremely glamorous luxury hotels in Lisbon, often set on one of the seven hills with commanding views across the town and over the sea. A number of glorious stately homes and palaces have been converted in hotels. Here the rooms are fit for royalty. During the summer months (June to September) much of the accommodation can be fully booked, so it is always wise to reserve in advance.
