Booked 2 double rooms, on arrival was allocated 2 twin rooms. Rooms were very basic, very small & drab. One of the rooms was in the basement with a very tiny window. No means of fire escape, no fire extinguisher. Had to wait for 3 hours for clean towels to be brought to our room due to them still being "in the dryer"!!! Staff very unhelpful. Would not recommend or return.

Hotel is clean and fine for a night sleep. Pity that other travellers seem to think they are alone in the hotel. During the night a lot of noise was made by people coming back or leaving the hotel. One guest decided not to carry his suitcase down the stairs but let it bump on the stairs from the highest floor to the groundfloor. In the middle of the night.

+ The rooms were very clean and the showers excellent. - Origionally we were put on the top floor up some very steep dangerous steps, our travelling companions were put at the opposite side of the hotel in a room no bigger than a shoebox, this despite booking several months in advance. there were no coffee making facilities in the rooms, and no bar to get a nightcap from in the hotel.

- I was told that there was paid parking and other parking nearby. the staff didn't seem to have any information on this. also no standard brochures of the metropolitan transport system which would have been useful

Great location within walking distance to Vondelpark and Leidesplein. Key card didn't work so we had to be let in each time we went out - even after paying 5 euros for the key card and 20 euros for a deposit on the remote control.

+ Very friendly & helpful staff - 'cash only' payment for rooms when you arrive at the hotel. - Breakfast - a two slice toaster was inadequate for the breakfast room there is no lift in the building and the hotel consist of single rooms in the basement floor and other rooms are on the other four floors. some rooms are in need of repairs. 20 euro returnable deposit for a tv remote that may not work when you take it to the tv.
