It's like to stay in a Paradise! Good quality vs price. Maybe the only problem is the distance from Amsterdam, but there's a hotel's bus which accompanies you to the airport where you can get a train for this city. The room is modern and comfortable.

Amsterdam was our base travelling to and from Europe and we overnighted at NH Schipol on two occasions. Once with breakfast included and once without. Take the breakfast included rate. They have an excellent buffet breakfast especially as choices at th

VERY disappointed with hotel. no signage in hotel lobby area or ANYWHERE to tell guests where ANYTHING is, reception always too busy so was not always easy to ask a quick question about anything. no brochures or info about hotel available to read, wasn't going to pay the EXPENSIVE price to go on internet to find out info about the hotel & facilities when i am actually IN the hotel....no rates, types of rooms displayed either, simple info which guest would appreciate. Can't believe the bar wasn't open all day!! with such a big turnaround of visitors, i didn't want to go & sit in the RESTAURANT just to have a coffee. I finally found bedroom, as the number system was MOST confusing, again something that should be SO SIMPLE,was far from it,as was the lift system!!Got into room which was nice size, but,NO information book to advise guests about ANYTHING,such as....restaurant opening times,menus...Houskeeping,EMERGENCIES,nothing to tell guests what to do or where to go in the case of FIRE,BOMB SCARE ETC ..This list could go on & on & on !!! (a shambles is how i would personally describe it).....Also Bathroom, very nice size,BUT... not a single hook to hang used towels on ???? As for the ironing room, that was just a JOKE..the iron was wired up to a hook in ceiling,i assume for security reasons, fine, but the cord ONLY JUST managed to stretch far enough to plug in but then, while plugged in there wasn't enough cord to be able to actually use the iron...ABSOLUTELY CRAZY setup. I have stayed in many many hotels all over the world, from the most basic to top quality & i have to say that A4 is the WORST one, as far as the MOST OBVIOUS & SIMPLE needs for any one staying in a hotel. They should have lobby staff on customer side to assist guests, there never seemed to be any other than the staff BEHIND reception, who were always busy. For the size of the hotel i was amazed at the lack of staff.....the ONE thing that was impressive was the shuttle bus,the fact that it ran on time! As you can gather from this reply we were NOT impressed,to the point that we were considering writing an artical in a NATIONAL newspaper on our experience. Just to say we had stayed in a hotel in a region of Holland called UDEN called ARROWS HOTEL prior to our stay in A4,which we could NOT fault which i think was a 2 or 3 star rating,so god only knows who gave A4 the 4 star rating ??as it certainly does not warrant it.

I stayed two nights, one night I parked my rental car at their parking from 22:00 to 08:00 next morning. I got charged Euro 17,50 + tax for the one night parking. Also, the method of pricing rooms booked by calling or stop-in, being 70-100% higher priced than the Internet-price, booked at the same point in time is a bad practice - even their own Web-site sells the same rooms much lower priced, only shows the real value - versa the wished for price by management.

+ Pick up from airport was free by bus even after midnight - I knew it was near the airport but i didn't think that getting to amsterdam would be quite so roundabout.

I checked-in on the 30th of Sept and checked -out on the 1st of Oct. At the airport, I was off loaded (standby ticket-this has nothing to do with the hotel). I returned back to the hotel 5 hours after (at 17:00 hours) and they ask me to pay 3 times the price I had paid 5 hours before with the excuse that it was Sunday afternoon and that the weekend rate was no longer valid. I think that this is not a good practice on behalf of the hotel. It is worth to be mentioned that because of this matter and the receptionist attitude, I made my way to another hotel. I have my reservations as to whether in future I will attempt my self or recomend to others to stay in any of the NH hotels chain.
