Kooyk Hotel is a typical 18th century canal house in the centre of Amsterdam, just a few minutes walk from the Leidseplein.This one star hotel caters for families, people on a budget and small groups. Our aim is to provide a comfortable affordable stay in the budget sector.The family rooms can accommodate up to six persons. They have lovely views of the Amsterdam canals. Family rooms have TV and wash hand basin. Shower/WC is located in the hall.Double and twin rooms are also large and have TV and wash facilities. The shower/ WC is located in the hall, while triple rooms have a balcony, French style windows, TV and washing facilities. Single rooms are a good size for the single traveller, and have TV and shower/ WC next to the room.Mr and Mrs Moonen have been running this hotel for the last 19 years and enjoy helping their customers organize their bike tours, canal trips and more. They are ready to answer your questions. You are guaranteed a warm welcome at The Kooyk!We serve you an unlimited buffet breakfast included in the price of your stay.This is as follows:- Orange juice- Cold cuts- Cheeses- Preserves- Toast and bread assortiment- Preserves,- Vegetarian spreads- Scrambled eggs or boiled eggs- Unlimited tea and coffee...- There are also drinks always available from the vending machines 24 hours.Please note that a 5% commission applies to credit card payments.Internet use is 1 euro for 30 minuites,wifi is 10 euro for your stay. please make inquiries at the reception.

+ This hotel is in an excellent location. it was close to bus stops and within easy walking distance from most attractions. my room was clean, safe and the continental breakfast was good. - The bathroom was very small, and finding a seat in the dining room for breakfast was a little awkward.

+ Hotel located close to the city's centrum, clean rooms and friendly employees. nice breakfast and generally a fair deal when you want to stay in amsterdam and don't want to spend too much money for the hotel.

+ Good location, generous breakfast - I was bitten severely by bed bugs all over my body. i did not receive a very good response from the staff member i reported it to. she tried to imply it was mosquitos. however,i have travelled a great deal and the number and severity of the bites does not indicate mosquitos and neither of the other people i travelled with were bitten at all. the shared bathroom facilites were poky and limited. the breakfast room could not accomodate all who came to breakfast.

+ Great and helpful staff. a really great location. a nice breakfast given the reasonable cost of the hotel! would be happy to return. - No reflection on the hotel, but during our stay a group of young men rented a number of rooms and were extremely noisy, engaged in excessive drinking, doors were left open, sound carried down the hall, and i suspect that prostitutes were part of the festivities. it compromised what was otherwise an excellent stay for our family at the kooyk hotel.

+ Pleasant staff, clean and functional, close to the centre and attractions - The website stated the check out time as 12.00 but we ended up being kicked out at 11.00 when we werent quite ready, but this was the websites fault not the hotel
