+ The king hotel is an ok hotel, i read alot of reviews on this hotel and all said about the steep staircase which is very true and a bit of a tackle when your either drunk or stoned. there is however a perfectly new lift that will take you up. the room itself was fine for just getting your head down after a very long day. there is everything you need, a bed, shower, toilet, hairdryer, & sink. the location of the hotel is about a 20-25 min walk into the central area of amsterdam i.e. the red light district & central station. however perfect location for the better clubs & pubs & 100% for the shopping. there is a very long strip og every shop possible and just a walk round a corner from a hotel and your in the square and right by a tram station if you require venturing out. - The bed was horrible, instead of a double its a twin and i spent most of the nights falling down the crack. if your a young or loving couple who like to cuddle up at night then i suggest you request a double because it was so annoying. as we wee there for 3 nights we just put up with it but i couldnt wait to get back to my own bed!!! the hotel didnt feel the most cleanliness of hotels but we hardly spent any time there so was fine for just using as a bunk for the night. the bathroom was fine though, very clean.

Hotel was nice for the price.centrally located to all attractions. Service was good but not excellent. Rooms were quite clean and spacious, although we were only sleeping there. So did not spend a lot of time in them.Beautiful view of the canals and tulips were in full bloom

We stayed at the King Hotel in Amsterdam in September 2006 and we knew it was a budget hotel with a great location going in so we weren't shocked when we got there.
