This hotel was very nice and very clean. It is located just outside the city center. If you're in town for just a couple days, I'd suggest staying right in the Dam or very close too. This hotel is in a more modern part of the city or at least is grouped with more modern looking buildings and is situated very close to Waterlooplein. Actually, I believe it is just across the street a couple blocks from Rembrant's House. I ended up staying in the city for four months, so this short walk was not a problem for me while I stayed here, but if you want to be right in the middle of everything stay in the city center. If you're there to party, red light district and any hotel/motel off damrak will be very happening. If you're there to party but don't want to stay in the red light, you can pretty much stay anywhere in the center, just stay off damrak and out of the red light as these two areas can be seedy (not dangerous) at night. Lastly, bathrooms very nice in this hotel...no sharing, private, clean, and very modern!

It is basically a newer building compared to the rest of the city. The staff were friendly and the Breakfasts were good since the food in Amsterdam is BLAND!! Also had private bath which many places you have to share. Actually a FREE country, soo fun, loved it!!

You want a nice hotel in a good location close to the metro, trams, supermarket, nice eateries, all within walking distance. new and air conditioned pretty bare bones but everything you need and wonderful staff. we had beautiful view of the canal from our room. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again or recommended this to anyone.

Accommodations are small but clean and comfortable. Staff is excellent. Charge of 13 Euro for breakfast a bit pricey but also very good tasting. Be prepared to walk several blocks to nearest tram stop & metro. Good grocery store down the street and great flea market close by (closes by 5 pm sharp!). This is a nice area of Amsterdam and no fear of walking late at night. Reasonable rate of 12.5 Euro for shuttle to airport, which hotel arranges. We would return to this hotel in the future.

Clean room and a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was a catastrophe. It is definitely overpaid. There should be real eggs used to make a scrambled egg, there also should be a selection of chesses or cold meats and sausage like I recall it from other IBIS hotels for the same price. The coffee was thin and tasted more like dishwater... The place outside the hotel where the smokers perform their habit should be kept clean. It was a disgrace.e
