Ibis Amsterdam Airport
Schipholweg 181 - 1171 PK Amsterdam
This is very much a group hotel as everything is geared up to volume with the exception of the restaurant. The shuttle bus means that even though its location is not ideal, it is very easy to get to the city centre and around the rest of the country making it ideal for individual travellers, also. 05/2006/g A modern, low rise building. This hotel is located close to the airport and offers a shuttle service to and from the airport meaning that the connections to the city centre are excellent, as are the connections to the rest of Europe. The train from Schiphol to Central Station takes 12 minutes by fast train and 20 minutes by slow train.

A reasonable standard hotel. Quite small cabin-like rooms, especially the bathroom resembles a cruise boat one. Good for staying overnight while waiting for your flight, the shuttle service to/from the airport worked fine. The price via Asiarooms was also a good bargain.

Large hotel, almost booked out when we stayed. Restaurants were well used as there is no alternative choice close by and the breakfast included in the room price was fine. The shower outlet in our room was blocked, staff were helpful we were offered another room. Airport shuttle served the Ibis, Etap and Novotel and was very overcrowded on our journey to Schipol Airport. Would use again when travelling

We arrived at the Ibis, Schiphol after a week long vacation in Paris and Venice for staying overnight to take an early morning flight. We were spoiled silly by the excellent hotel in Venice and I guess that set our expectation high. Ibis is good as a transit hotel...well maybe not. The airport shuttle which picks up guests for all Novotel and Accor guests tends to be a little crowded (with a 30 minute frequency). On arrival at the Ibis, we were checked into a "standard" room, which means no temperature control, and bare basic amenities. No mini bar, limited toiletries (we were given just one small bar of soap) and a room telephone with locked outgoing access is definitely not a friendly place. The Wi-Fi is pay-to-use T-Mobile which can be a bit of an issue when you arrive at midnight and need to shuffle out of your room in your bed clothes to get Internet. I needed to check-in online for my morning flight out and I had some technical issues connecting to the site and needed help. The other alternative was to use the phone, which thanks to the hotel policy was locked. So here I was, sleepy as hell trying to get the phone unlocked walking all the way to the front desk only to be told that I could not get it unlocked until morning thanks to a system "backup". I was also curtly informed that I needed to get my credit card authorized for phone access when the system came back online. Fuming and frustrated, I returned to my room only to find out that we had to share a small bar of soap between the two of us. The only reason why anyone would want to stay here is because its cheap (74 Euros/ night) and close to the airport. Given an alternative, I would avoid this place next time.

poor layout (b fast on 4th floor!), long endless corridors and a very shabby room. feels like eastern europe in the 80's!

It was just a stop over on my way home. My late wife had arranged the stay because she had stayed there before and sadly couldn't be with me this time. We had stayed at a few different Accor hotels in the past and always considered them very good in their facilities, personnel, location and value. The staff was very helpful from the shuttle bus, the desk, to the restaurants and shops. The breakfast was good and got me on my way again in good spirits. The broken bar of complimentary soap is my only complaint. I'd stay there again. Thanks.

The staff were very helpful and checked me in during the morning. Thus was a huge help to me. The hotel was just what I needed for my brief stay.

A very effecient transfer service from and to airport. They use 2 40-seater bus. A typical business and airport hotel. AMS Airport is very close to town by a direct train.

I used the services of this hotel twice. It is rationally well-organised for travelers who stop for one or two nights. The service was very friendly, the breakfast was good and the checking in and out was very smooth. The location close to the airport is very practical. The free shuttle bus service is a good bonus. I warmly recommend it.
