Hotel New Amsterdam

Nice and clean. No lift but excellent possition. I will come again...

Gorgeous little gem in Amsterdam. On the Herengracht canal. My room was on the first floor overlooking the canal. Every night it was quiet (except for the last one). The staff were all incredibly nice, helpful and pleasant. Great location - quiet but close to everything else. Good rate. After coming it at night I had chicken chutney burritos (from a microwave) - but they were delicious. The internet computer was accessible most of the time. Just such a delight. It is now becoming a Chic & Basic hotel, part of a chain of trendy small boutique hotels in Europe. It was in the middle of transitioning when I was there, but I don't think anything will change related to what I've written.

My wife and I stayed here last September and had a great time.

The name of the hotel is perfect... Chic & Basic. Located a couple of minutes walk from the main train station in a quite street overlooking a canal. Excellent.

+ Newly renovated, nice and clean rooms - Was offerered an "old room" first - way too small and not very nice

This is a really cool hotel, with nice service and breakfast. Besides, this is located near to the Central station, very convenient.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Compact rooms but had everything we needed. Breakfast amazingly good (even had Champange before Christmas as a special treat!). Near enough to station to carry bags easily. Nice neighbourhood.

+ Centrally located at a reasonable price. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean and comfortable. - Steep stairs not suitable for elderly or infirm individuals.
