+ Great location, great apartment

+ The couple who have renovated and run the accommodation are obviously devoted to making the stay as comfortable as possible. the service and breakfast in particular was excellent. marcel and berry were both very helpful and informative with a real personal touch. the accomm is very well priced and excellently situated very near the centraal train station, many bars and cafes as well as the red light district, and just far enough away that it is not too loud or busy. a beautiful canal view from our well presented clean room to top it off. i would have no hesitation in returning to stay again or recommending this place to others. - A typically designed central amsterdam building with restricted room and steep steps - all part of the great experience!

+ Berry, marcel and crystal very welcoming and helpful. excellent cleanliness and comfort, food wonderful. great situation. felt true amsterdam atmosphere with crazy step stairs-just took care and it was worth the effort. recommend+++ - Severley limited mobility stairs would be a problem otherwise recommend to anyone who happy to share bathroom.

+ Great location, good value when compared to other accommodation available - No smoking big doobies inside allowed!

+ Fantastic decor, personalised service, great breakfast, much better than a four star hotel experience (maybe even a five star!). the daily surprises were an added bonus!

+ My boyfriend and i had a fantastic time in fort amsterdam. it's great value for money given the location (five mins from train station, on the edge of the red light district and five mins from main shopping centre). the owner is laid back and welcoming, offers great advice about places to go/see. the rooms are immaculate, with dvd player, tv, a mini fridge stocked with coca cola and beers and even a chocolate on our pillow on arrival! the breakfasts are also great, including pancakes, toast, cereals and a coffee machine. we're definitely going back soon.

+ The b&b is in an excellent location within walking distance of the station and located on a pretty canal. it is close to the red light district however you are not aware of this while in the b&b. it is very well maintained from the outside and the inside is just as nice. we had the slightly more spacious room on the ground floor which was lovely. it was cleaned everyday. it was no bother to climb the stairs to the very clean bathroom. breakfast was always lovely - we had eggs, pancakes, fresh bread and fruit during our stay. also a lovely touch was that we were staying at the b&b during sintaclas - the dutch christmas present giving day - and st nick managed to find his way to our room and deliver our initials in chocolate! i have a feeling berry & marcel may have had a word with him! they are lovely, and recommended some gorgeous restaurants to us while we were there.

+ We stayed in an apartment owned by the owners of the b&b. it was a beautiful apartment with all amenities and the location is perfect. it sleeps 2 people, is roomy and very comfortable. the lounge and eating area allows you to enjoy the bustling street outside whilst relaxing, but the bedroom is silent! the apartment is safe, secure and on third floor. the owners provide thoughtful extras that made this a perfect place to return to. - Nothing at all.

+ Berry and marseille run a fantastic guest house, close to all public amenities. the service that is provided is excellent in so far that it is very clean, you only see berry and marceille at breakfast (you specify what time, the house is very central and discreet and you dont get lots of stag doo's or rowdy groups close by..... all in all a fantastic stay and i would recommend it to all. darren and michelle, edinburgh.....
