How would you like to be on vacation and paying top dollar for hotel accommodations but never gain access to your room? This was our experience and to add insult to injury, after paying up front for a room for 4 nights, we were told we seemed to be the only ones who were having problems with our door. Funny, I guess the management forgot about the hired help having to crawl along the restaurant roof to gain acess by coming in through our window to open up the room for us every time we wanted into our room. Also forgotten was the fact that the hotel cleaning staff was interrupted while doing our room as we had clean towels but the dirty ones were left in a pile on the floor because housekeeping couldn't get back in to finish their work! My suggestion, find another hotel and save yourself the misery we got from this place. Amsterdam is awesome, just find a better spot to hang your hat. You should be treated as a respected guest, you pay for it, and you deserve it!

I wasn't happy with two single beds pushed together as a double. At a total of 695 euros for 3nights in a VERY basic hotel i would have to consider using your service again, as the accomodation was more like a hostel. I am Not a happy customer.

The one-star rating Yahoo gives is well-deserved...Although the staff was very nice, the location was great (central, close to the train station), and the breakfast (included) was good, it seemed that there was only one person at all times to service the place (maid service, that is)...When we arrived, we had no linens and had to ask for them...It seemed that we had perhaps one of the only rooms that hadn't been redecorated, so the other ones looked quite nice, but ours looked antiquated...Every time we had to call about something, we were left wondering if we'd been forgotten...I asked about an iron several times, and the definitive answer eventually was that the iron had probably been stolen by one of the guests, and that I'd remain a wrinkly tourist...The shower floor was only about an inch below the rest of the bathroom floor, and the drain was incredibly slow, so I thought we'd have a flood into the hotel room...When this issue was mentioned to the staff, nothing was done before we left, so anything left on the bathroom floor became soaked...

We were lucky because we got a new renovated room with a view. The location was great. Close to all transportation. The breakfast was a delightful surprise...eggs, bacon, toast, cheese, cereal. Not what I was expecting. I stayed at a different hotel earlier in the week and wish I had booked here for that stay. I would definitely stay here again.

A functional hotel. Could not have stayed in the twin room for any length of time though as it was very small. There were a number of things in the bathroom that an average sized person could have hit their head off. The public areas were excellent and the staff were very helpful, allowing us to leave our bags for most of our final day. I would stay here again.

The hotel is in a good location if traveling by train and want to be near central station. Otherwise the rooms are dirty, carpet was filthy, compared to other places and it was the the most expensive place we stayed in Europe. Ok for college kids or a single traveler for a night or 2. A really nice guy worked the front desk and was very helpful, other girl working there was clueless though.

Kind stuff, kind guests. A very good Hotel for a short stay in Amsterdam. Near Metro, taxis, busses and train and a fantastic start for sightseeing and nightlife. Very good meal in the restaurant.

The hotel has the rudest staff, the room smelt strongly of urine, and the cleaner is absent. Don't expect clean towels or your bed made.

+ Great staff, rooms are good value for the money - We expected basic rooms and this is what we got, so we weren't disappointed. A good clean of the carpets would add a lot to the comfort of the hotel.
