The location is good, it's in the museum district, but to get to your room (unless you got one on the ground floor) one must negotiate through steep and narrow stairways. Not good for elderly people or the handicapped and those with bulky luggage.

+ Its location. - The room we had contained 2 single bads, no chest of drawers and no where to hang any clothes. it was almost possible to touch both walls. on 1 of the days nobody came in to make the bed or clean. we were woken up by other guests on the three nights that we stayed. the breakfast was disappointing. instead of bread from a bakery it was all plastic wrapped from the supermarket. there was very little choice for vegetarians. you had to pay extra for fruit juice.

+ This is a small friendly hotel in a quite area but very close to the town with lots of places to eat near by. the stairs are steep but the building is around 300 yrs old, and typical of amsterdam. the bedrooms are clean and comfortable. the reception/breakfast room is full of music memrobelia and juke boxes which are played at breakfst time. on arrival we were met by the owner who was very friendly and told us how to save on parking costs (which are about 4 euros an hour in amsterdam) with park and ride. we paid 5.50 euros a day. - Don't stay here if steep stairs are a problem.

+ The hotel were very accommodating, letting us drop our suitcase off earlier than check in time. also on departure day, staff let us leave case all day when check out is 11am. the owner was a real character & the hotel was very quirky!! double room was very spacious. - A bit inconvenient having to pay bill in cash on departure as no safe facilities in hotel. also towels didnt get changed when asked & bathroom had a bit of an unpleasant odour!

+ For the price, I was quite pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room and facilities. - It was a bit of a pain having to pay in cash at the end. The dog didn't seem to like the look of us.

+ Good location, clean rooms - We booked 2 rooms with four beds in each. when we got there, one of the beds was a fold up bed, not what we were expecting or wanting. the confirmation e-mail we received stated a price, but hotel owner tried to charge us extra for city tax. we refused to pay this, as was not on the confirmation and no mention of having to pay this on top. had to sahre a bathroom with the room across the hall. this was ok as our party were in the other room, but would have not been exceptable if we hadn't known these people
