The hotel was based in an enviable location but was extremely poor quality for the money that we paid. Would definately not stay there again or reccommend it to anyone.

The Hotel is fine, but unfortunatelly I had a problem with money that had disappeared from my bag, into the room, and the Hotel employees didn´t believe me. They need to take care of better their guests.

I needed a hotel for a short stop in Amsterdam before catching an early flight out of Schiphol. This hotel was very near the train station. Service was good. They gave me a triple room on the back, it was spacious and quiet. Not a place of charme, but very convenient.

This Hotel was a real sweatshop, if you were in one of the front rooms, as my friends were, it was like sitting in the middle of a motorway in rush hour or if you were towards the middle of the hotel, like we were, it was like being in a sauna with a dufflecoat, gloves, hat and scarf on(not that I own a dufflecoat). The rooms were very basic, we booked a triple room, there was about six inches between the beds and no wardrobes so clothes had to be kept in bags. The safe was non existant. The bathroom had a level floor so if you showered the whole bathroom became a swimming pool. I got my certificate for jumping in and swimming one length! The only good thing going for this hotel was the location, 5 mins from the station and 5 mins to the smoking cafe's and red light district! I forgot to mention the mosquitos, they must have been completely stoned the amount of my blood they drank, freeloaders!

This hotel, although very well situated in Amsterdam, close to everything, was a great disapointment. I stayed there one night in December 2008, thank God it was only one night. The staff seemed pleasant enough, but the hotel itself is in serious need of a make-over. First of all, you enter the hotel through a restaurant. The property itself is generally run down and dirty. The carpet throughout and especially in the tiny rooms, were filthy. Cracked walls and old sinks throughout. Obviously the owners (Damrak Hotels) are milking this property to the maximum. Add to this, I had problems with my credit card. They charged my room twice for the same night, and after repeated telephone calls and e-mails from Canada to try and correct the problem, I have yet to hear back from them (1 month later). Totally not impressed with this hotel. I will never be staying here again and would not recommend it to anyone. There are better options for the price range. I guess you get what you pay for in life (60 Euros...or in my case 120 Euros). Keep away!!!

Clean, non-noisey room with the ammenities required but the size of the room should have housed a double rather than four singles(one of which happened to be a matress on the floor). The heating was a little suspect on our final night, but overall considering the location and the price I can't have too many qualms on this budget hotel

Cheap place to stay like a hostle The problem with this hotel is the safety. There is no lobby or secured entry. There’s 24/7 access to the hotel but during off hours you walk thru an un-secured restaurant straight into the hotel. The walls were very thin and the rooms were small with an even smaller bathroom. The benefits are a very basic breakfast buffet in the mornings with cereal, toast, etc. The hotel staff was very good and made arrangements to make our stay comfortable but the hotel itself wasn’t up to par.

Toilet are clean but the room are small, not so clean, very noisy at night (one of the small window broken) and the breakfeast are poor. On overall, it is not worth the price we are paying and I will recommend this hotel again.
