Caution with the old man at front desk, he will try charge you in advance. Don¿t be naive. elevator did work. The shower curtain was dirty. The hotel room was dusty. The restaurant was less than average. I check out the next day.

I was extremely disappointed with the Damrak Inn. First of all, one had to climb a ridiculous flight of stairs just to get to the reception. The angle of the stairs was difficult enough without carrying luggage. I almost didn't fit with my 50 lbs of lug

they have mice, for God's sake !!!!!! The mice walk on the bed when you are sleeping !!!!! no air conditioning - verry hot in the room and very loud outside. The bathroom was for MIDGETS. If you have more than 1,60 m and 45 kg - stay home, or take a chamb

+ Excellent location for exploring amsterdam - Rooms are dark and gloomy but you arent in the room hardly anytime at all. lots of very steep stairs throughout hotel, definately not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties. hotel rooms are no smoking, however reception and cleaning staff all smoking in communal areas.

+ The location of the hotel is very good,-close to citycenter and trainstation - The website promised too much,-we were led to believe that there would be a coffee/teemaker at the room,and that we could have a room for smokers,-neither happened.it would also have been nice to have been informed about the steep stairs,-having to climb the 4-floor !!!!
