Blue Square Hotel

+ Lovely hot shower, excellent breakfast and comfy beds - I was aware from reading reviews, but others may not be, that the hotel is still undergoing some finishing. i did use this e-booking facility to ask about parking but never received a reply. although all websites about the hotel state underground parking should be available by august, it has not yet been constructed. we left the motorbike on the pavement just outside the hotel although were advised by friends that trucks do do drive-bys in the area to pick up motorbikes.

+ Proximity to tram and bus stops (about 3 min walk) and a low cost, good quality grocery store ("aldi")- about 1 min walk. aproximately 15-20 min tram ride to the city center - dam square, central station, etc. parking availability on a nearby street for free, free wireless internet, clean quiet rooms. - Room-to-room phone service did not work, had to call front desk to be connected. no refrigerator and no ice-maker, so don't plan to store perishable food there. breakfast was ok, but same selection every day. overall feels like it's a former school or hostel, renovated into a hotel. maybe a little overpriced, however it's a general problem for amsterdam. but if you plan to sleep there only then it's fine.

+ Clean. - No hotel parking facility, and on check out they tried to charge us their daily rate and not the rate we were quoted when we booked it online.
