Barangây
Droogbak 15/A - 1013 GG Amsterdam
The Barangây Bed & Breakfast is a cosy guesthouse boasting a particular tropical decor, which was built in 1777 on the former coastline of Amsterdam and still retains its original facade. The street where the property lies is very quiet though the street behind it is the longest shopping street in the Netherlands. All kind of public transportation are within 3 minutes walk. Bars, restaurants, shops, canals and more are all close by. When you check-in you will be provided with a city map and a welcome drink. Barangây is your tropical hide-away in the center of Amsterdam!

A fantastic welcome with a detailed introduction to the sights and culture of the city, also information of where to eat off the beaten track, for both lunch and dinner. Lovely home from home rooms, we stayed in the studio and the tropical room downstairs

I was disappointed that selecting the location and the place at the website made me beleive that the place will be where it was shown. After showing up on the site with all the bags they told me that my accomodation is in another flat somewhere else. They claimed to send me this in an email, probably junk mail filter was doing its job... Anyway, the confirmation email received from Venere was not enough to convince them, so if I wanted to have a bed for the night I had to accept going to the flat offered some few km-s away. After all, the room with separate bathroom was nice, but I expected a different location so loosing some veluable hours clearing things out at the beginning decreased the experience, but better luck next time...

A fantastic welcome with a detailed introduction to the sights and culture of the city, also information of where to eat off the beaten track, for both lunch and dinner. Lovely home from home rooms, we stayed in the studio and the tropical room downstairs which is located next door to the main B&B, very quiet and clean. The breakfast is amazing and I even took the receipe for main dish! I would definately check here first for availability should I return to the city. All in all a brilliant trip made better than we thought because of the closeness of the B&B to the city, but also the feeling of safety as the B&B is in a quiet residential street. Thankyou Godwynn and Wimmo

I was staying in the Tropical Patio Room. Everything was great - everybody was very friendly and helpful. Location is perfect, 3 min on foot from the Central Station, you pay about 4 euro to get there by train from the airport. Very convenient to browse the city! I would definitely stay there again and recommend to everybody who is not too old or overweight. This is just an apartment turned into B&B. You got to be in shape to go up and down the stairs, they are very steep and very narrow, like everywhere in Amsterdam's apartments located in the center of the city. Not a good idea to bring little kids there either, not enough space and the house is not "childproof", a lot of very cute but breakable decorations all over the place including the stairway. Other than that this is great place to stay in Amsterdam, you will be right in the center of the city and save a lot of money, any hotel in the same area will cost you 3-4 times more.
