The Hotel is situated 2 minutes walk to Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum, 3 minutes walk to agencies who offer boat tours in the canals (where you can also purchase Iamsterdam city cards), and other touristic attractions in the centrum. It is a perfect location to stay for going out or clubbing as pubs are 3-4 minutes away yet the hotel is in a calm and silent street. Room was refurbished and bathroom was brand new. This hotel is indeed under renovation and there are works going on on the 3rd floor. So on weekdays it can be noisy from morning about 8.30-9.00 o'clock. Weekend was fine. Our room was refusrbished but did not at all look like what was in the picture. It was not bigger than 12 sqm with a double bed inside with absolutely no room to move or properly open a suitcase. I think the drawback was mainly the size of the room and the fact that the hotel has construction stages/ladders on the outside/facade.

The location of this hotel is absolutely amazing: practically across the street from the Rijksmuseum, close to the nightlife around the Leidseplein and the relaxing oasis of the Vondelpark, and a stroll away from downtown Amsterdam. The bathroom was surprisingly luxurious and the hotel as a whole made a very good impression on us. Of course the room and bathroom are on the small side but how much time do you really plan to spend there when you're in such an incredible city?
