This hotel is well located near two major museums, lots of restaurants, various tram stops and to the leidseplein, a very active area of Amsterdam. The rooms were luxurious in feel and amenities. The water was hot and powerful. I felt safe in the immediate neighborhood. Upon check-in, the clerk asked only my Name, and then handed me keys. No discussion of whether smoking or non-smoking or bed configuration. Luckily, I was not picky about the bed or beds and the room did not smell of smoke enough to complain about. But, had it been a problem, my review would not be a good one and I would have been very unhappy that it was not even discussed initially.

This hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff was so friendly, professional, and efficient. The location of the hotel was ideal for walking for seeing all the sites and museums, and there were many nice restaurants and cafes close by. There was a trolley line and a canal line directly across the street. The hotel is not very attractive from the outside, but the rooms were extremely quiet and comfortable. The renovations were successful. The decor was very pleasant - the new bedding was superior! Our room was super quiet (even though the hotel was full for "Queen's Weekend") and the 100% cotton sheets and fluffy pillows and mattress cover made it a great place to sleep. The chocolates from the turn-down service were better than the usual Marriott chocolate! The hot water was super hot. The bathroom amenities were very nice. The concierge gave us great recommendations. We were very happy with the staff, decor, cleanliness, safety, location and price. We would definitely stay there again!

What a great choice! I was so comfortable in this hotel. Nice customer service, very comfortable bed, and good food for the late night room service. The location was fantastic. Very close to great museums, restaraunts, and anything a tourist could ever want. The concierge will even prepare a bike for you to rent for the day, if you’d like. There is a Pizza Hut (along with another restaurant and bar) on the first floor for Americans looking for a little bit of home while they are on their trip. Very convenient, and they will deliver up to your room. If you need to use the internet, be prepared to pay for your time. That is the only thing that was a slight "bummer". Overall, I would love to return to this hotel in the future. It was fantastic! Traveler's tip on recreational activities Take Mike’s Country Bike tour! It was the best part of our trip. Make sure to print out your vouchers and bring them with you. They meet behind the Rijksmuseum at 11am (that wasn’t printed on the voucher, and it wasn’t the easiest info to get while in Amsterdam).

Gorgeous room, extremely comfortable bed, perfect location, bathroom was beautiful! Flat screen TV had poor reception and not many choices to watch. Internet was extremely expensive.

Great Hotel in a Great Place The hotel was all that one could want. Personnel were great.Location was great. Nothing negative to say. Traveler's tip on dining It is difficult to get a reasonable breakfast in Amsterdam. Hotel is expensive. Most local places don’t open until 10 AM. Mac Donalds saved the day. A great diner restauranct is the "Five Flies". Excellant menue in a nice environment. A little pricey, but worth the price.
