Ach Leidse Square Hotel Amsterdam

+ We appreciated above all the quietness of the hotel at night (no traffic noise, no noise from other rooms) despite the fact that the hotel was very busy. it is ideally situated near leidseplein, a square with many street artists and numerous restaurants. - We had actually also booked a room with two single beds for the night from june 14 to 15 at this hotel but when we arrived on saturday afternoon we were given a room with a double bed instead and reception informed us they had no other room available. we complained the next day on checking out and were given a eur 20.- reduction and apologies from the manager.

+ Can't think of anything "positive" to say, except that one of the front desk staff was nice. the others left a lot to be desired. - Tiny, tiny room. no place for suitcases. bathroom bad. dirty dishes for breakfast. poor room cleaning.

+ I found the hotel very clean and the staff was very friendly good location

+ Excellent value for money. reception were very helpful when needed. the hotel delivered what was all expected giving us a very pleaseant stay. - Nothing.

+ Great location in museum district, easy walking to museums, yet on a quiet street. very friendly, competent staff, clean, comfortable rooms, good breakfast.

+ Good, central position. friendly, helpful staff - Our room was on the ground floor at street level on a corner.noise was a problem. the street address was not given on the website printout and our taxi driver (from the airport)was unable to locate the hotel (it is not in leidse square) - he eventually dropped us several streets away with incorrect directions and four heavy suitcases. also, there were steps at the entrance to negotiate with the heavy suitcases.

+ The hotel was very easy to find and when we arrived were greeted by a happy helpful member of staff.the room was clean and comfortable ie nice bed and good powerful shower. - Would have been nice to have a kettle and tea and coffee makin facilites in the room.
