Aadam Hotel Wilhelmina

Just got back from Amsterdam which is an amazing city, but this hotel is far too way out, and this hotel does not show any sign of recently being refurbed has stated on their web site, it took us 45 mins walk in to town or we had to spend loads on trams. Breakfast was nothing more than cereals and a sandwich. Rooms were clean but very basic. However our bathroom which consisted of toilet,sink and shower were spotlessly clean. Very budget price hotel, ok for students, certainly not for families. Was very dissapointed in location, to way out for my liking. But next shall choose a different hotel like the Acro or Prinsen which are both good hotels.

+ The hotel service was excellent, the staff were polite. the room was very clean, small, but comfortable.

- The only negative thing was that the cleaning staff woke up us every morning at 9 : 30 to clean,not even well,tge bathroom

What an absolute rip off. We could have stayed in a really good hotel for 135 euros a night. This hotel is so basic, that you can get better hostels for half the price. The room stank of smoke, even though we asked for a non smoking room. The bathroom was tiny, and the hairdryer did not work. The hotel is noisy at night and there are no staff on duty. There is no access to tea and coffee facilities, other than paying out another 15 euros per night to have a kettle put in your room. The staff were pleasant, but couldnt really be bothered to help or assist you in any way.

+ The staff were very friendly and helpful. rooms were clean. - The location information is a bit misleading as it is further that suggested on the website. the rooms are nice, but the pictures on the website are not exactly what the rooms look like! they are much smaller than on the website.

+ Cleanliness, quietness, plenty of trams - Breakfast room small, cramped. initial booking says only 4 tram stops 20 mins from central station, in fact on arrival about 8 stops and 40 mins from station,(perhaps arrived wrong time of day).however during stay found trams plentiful and punctual.

+ Hotel staff were very helpful and confirmed our booking themselves by email (something that other amsterdam hotels do not always seem to do). hotel was clean and seemed to be well-run. beds were neatly made up and the room was cleaned every day (something else that does not always seem to happen). - Like nearly all amsterdam hotels, the stairs are steep and would not be suitable for elderly or disabled guests. the location is quiet (a plus point) but a long tram ride away from most of the city's attractions (a minus point). there was one complaint from my lady friend about the reaction of the (male) cleaner when he accidentally opened her room door! the only other complaint was against certain other guests who were noisy and rude. very little that a hotel management can do about that!

+ convenient to tram stop, breakfast included, nice quiet neighborhood - Poor lighting in the rooms.Shower would change from warm to cold or from warm to too hot without touching any of the controls.Bed matress far to thin for comfort.

+ Great location near vondel park. not too far from centre (unless you get lost like we did), 20 min walk or the tram stop just outside the hotel. - Getting woken up at 9am with someone wanting to clean the room was a bit of a pain. non-smoking.

THe hotel is excellent situated. The rooms clean and spacious. The service was super. Breakfast plentyfull and delicious.
