A good base for seeing Rome on foot. However the rooms were cramped eespecially the bathroom. Breakfast was adequate, but again in cramped conditions. No toast or fruit available.

They messed up our reservation so my husband and I spent the night in a very small single bed. Four of our other friends were moved to different hotels!!

+ The quietness (because we had a back room) - The bathroom had a bad smell which did not go away

We stayed here in 1998 on our first trip to Rome. It is in a very safe area in walking distance from the Coliseum. We found the hotel to be very clean and charming. The room was a little cramped, but you find that all over Rome. There is a lovely breakfast in the morning and the staff are very accomadating. I hope this is helpful to you. All in all, I would stay there again. It has been 6 years so check also with your travel agent. Enjoy your trip!

I have stayed there twice and I really like the location and the staff was very nice to us both times. We were a family of 4 teenage girls and 2 ladies.

This was our second visit to Hotel Valle. We like the hotel because it is located two blocks from the train station, 4 blocks from the Colosseum, and about a mile to the Vatican. The rooms are very clean and the bathrooms are beautiful--wonderful tile and apparently new, high-quality fixtures. Via Cavour is a busy street during the day, but noise at night was not a problem. Staff competence and hospitality are average to above-average. The breakfast is adequate. There are numerous cafes and inexpensive restaurants in the immediate area. Hotel Valle's only weakness is that the rooms are very small. The prices were as quoted by Venere.com.

very friendly staff, location is good and the hotel is clean overall the hotel is a bit old and not maintained well enough (some smell in the bathrooms) and the breakfast is rather plain (no variety at all)

No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfast area very small, if you didn't time it right you would have to queue and wait for a table to become free. Near to St Maria Maggiore church, worth a visit. Colosseum and Roman Forum within easy walk

We had a lovely stay at hotel Valle. The staff spoke good English and were very helpful. Considering we were in Rome the room was bigger than expected and the location was fantastic. We would definitely stay again.

This is a good hotel, clean with a friendly staff. It is located very close to Termini rail station, which was good for me because I was only staying in Rome for two separate days before taking the train to travel to the Cinque Terre. Most of the staff was very helpful with directions and recommendations of where to eat. The first room I had however, room #108 smelled BAD. Like there was a cat's litter box somewhere in the room that hadn't been cleaned for 20 years, but clean. The second room was nice and didn't smell bad. If you are looking to be in the center of Rome you should look elsewhere but if this isn't important I would stay at this hotel
