I spent 3 days in this 4 star hotel and primarily I appreciated the location that is in the Trastevere district, one of the best in Rome to experience the local life with many "osterie" and typical restaurants. It is also well served by the train that goes to the Fiumicino Airport. The hotel is not a budget accommodation but they offers good services at affordable rates: there is a small spa, a roof garden with a spectacular view, meeting rooms. I stayed in a very clean double room superior with a bathroom in marble furnishing. Breakfast was also fine. In conclusion a great experience.

Really nice hotel, BUT.... ...this hotel is very Ialian. You might even call it a boutique hotel. We got the superior room, and it was truly superior. Marble bath, hardwood floors, refrigerator with mini bar, nothing was missing, and some things like insulated walls, heavy duty drapes to keep out noise, furniture, etc., was a cut above, more on the Waldorf level then 3.5 stars. The only qualm I have is with the breakfast buffet. Coffee, here is espresso. Try drinking that in a regular coffee cup. My wife figured the right ratio, 1 part coffee to 9 parts hot water, makes about a regular cup of euro/american coffee. Finally, we thought to order cappucino, and that was included in the buffet and very good indeed. Forget the eggs and ’bacon’, they’re out of this world. Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay 18E for weekly tram/bus ticket.

When we arrived, the hotel did not look like it was going to be anything special, but our first clue that we had made the right choice came as soon as we walked inside. The lobby area was beutifully done and the gentleman at the front desk was extremely friendly and courteous (though not cloying or overly familiar, which was nice). He went out of his way to get our room prepared for early check in (we arrived expecting to store our bags and wander around, how nice it was to be able to check in right away after a long flight!).

My wife and I traveled to Rome in April 2009 during Holy Week. We stayed at the Trilussa Palace for 8 nights. The staff at this hotel were very friendly, helpful and attentive. The room was very clean and well kept. The only negative was the size of the shower but we managed just fine. The location of the hotel is perfect. A little off the beaten path but close enough to the city. You can catch the trolley right across the street and travel time to the city is less than 10 minutes. We would definitely stay here again.

Off the beaten path, but recommended. Hotel is few meters from Trastevere train station, and few steps to tram, to reach nearby restaurants and La Argentina, where it's a couple of blocks to the Pantheon and Piazza Navona.

Rome for a week For the price range, this hotel is excellent. The trolley car stops right out front, a ticket is 18 Euros for a week and you need one, if you need to take a taxi down town its about 10 Euro dollars, public transportation is very easy and many Italians do speak English. There is a great pizza place about 5 blocks down on the right toward the river; you will know it by the white marble table tops. My lady is still commenting about the roof top bar in the evenings which was great. The staff was excellent and we cant say enough good things about them. If this is your price range, you will love this hotel. Traveler's tip on local attractions Get on the Internet and find tours. We took the double-decker tour bus, and you find negative comments about them, the reason why is because the narrator only talks at the sites, so there is a lot of music and you don’t feel you are getting your money’s worth. We suggest buying only one day if you do, and take walking tours. If you go to the Vatican, a tour is a must; otherwise you will wait in line for 4 hours or more while tour groups get right in. The Vatican tours are worth every penny.

Was there in October 2010 - based on good reviews everywhere and location (famous nightlife scene of Trastevere) i decided to stay in this hotel and i was not not disapointed. Trastavere is a nice neighborhood and I wish we'd had more time to explore. Many good restaurants - a great Chinese restaurant right next door - grocery stores and pubs closeby. Comfortable room. I appreciated so much the response upon booking which was very fast and courteous. The hotel staff were extremely helpful when asked, never nagging or rude. TOP PLUS - roof top bar and the friendly bartender.

extremely satisfied with my choice the hotel is located a couple of blocks away from a really interesting area near the st maria piazza. the area is picturesque w/ cobblestone alleys and tons of restaurants and bars. the area gets really lively every evening around 8 or 9 o clock and stays crowded until about midnight. plenty of locals and tourists mingling and eating/drinking. its almost like a big block party.

This was our first trip to Rome and we stayed at the Trilussa. It was wonderful! The staff was very courteous, helpful and patient with us non-Italian speaking tourists. There was a breakfast buffet that was included in the price of our room that always had a nice variety of pastries, eggs, sausage, bacon, fruit, meats and cheeses, cereal, milk, juices and coffee. The room was very clean, nicely furnished with comfortable beds and had a nice balcony. One of the things we liked best about this hotel was its location. It is tucked away in a nice quiet residential area of the city yet is very close to downtown. There are tram and bus stops directly in front of the hotel that take you to the center of Rome in about 5 minutes. The neighborhood also had many small cafes with reasonably priced delicious food. This was the perfect place for us to stay. We will definitely recommend it to our friends and family and if we make it back to Rome again we will definitely stay at the Trilussa.
