Sole Al Pantheon
Piazza Della Rotonda 63 - 00186 Rome
Occupying an ochre painted Renaissance building, which has been providing lodging to guests to the Eternal City since the mid 15th century, the Hotel Sole al Pantheon, as its name suggests, overlooks Rome's awe inspiring Pantheon and lies 500 meters from the Piazza Navona. The eye catching lobby, decorated with replica 17th century frescoes, imbues the hotel with a sense of history while reflecting the historical prestige of its central location. Of the hotel's 31 air conditioned guestrooms, 25 are located in the main building while an annex opposite the Pantheon houses six apartments. All with high ceilings and elegant long windows, the classically decorated rooms feature antique furniture and prints, marble bathrooms with jetted tubs and power showers, minibars and complimentary Internet connections. Guests can wake up to an American style breakfast in the dining room or outside on hotel's interior patio terrace, where tall potted palms and climbing plants provide cool and shade and enjoy drinks and cocktails later in the day in the intimate and informal bar. Complimentary daily papers and a laptop with high speed Internet access (surcharge) are on offer in the spacious lounge, which features a terracotta tiled floor and large leather sofas arranged around an open fireplace. Practical amenities include round the clock front desk service with a safe deposit box and nearby pay parking. Hotel guests are offered discounted access to the facilities at a nearby fitness center. Guests will find themselves within walking distance of the major attractions of central Rome; the Trevi Fountian and Capitoline Hill are less than a kilometer away, while the Coliseum, Forum, and the Spanish Steps and are within two kilometers of the hotel. Rome Fiumicino airport is 26 kilometers away.

I stayed 2 nights. The Hotel is very nice and very well maintained. Employees are friendly and helpful. Fantastic Location. Good Breakfast buffet. I was given a room separate from the main building (102) which although was big and clean, make me feel a bit unsafe because of the entry door which is a glass door easy to open from outside. Must say other rooms don't have that problem. A bit overpriced.

Great location in centre of Rome We recently spent just one night at the Sole al Pantheon Hotel in Rome. The hotel is in a wonderful location and within walking distance of all the most important sights. Our room overlooked the Piazza della Rotondo and the Pantheon which was lovely but it was a bit noisy at night as Rome was so busy. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was good too. We would definitely go back.

At check-in the woman was extremely pleasant and helpful as were the porters. At check-out the gentleman seemed as if we were bothering him. The location is perfect, just steps away from the Pantheon. The rooms were nicely decorated and quite clean. They were doing some sort of remodeling outside of our room so it was a bit noisy in the morning. A beautiful and romantic hotel.

Excellent location - ideal for all of the attractions. A surprising quiet hotel, given that it is on Piazza della Rotunda. Although a bit pricey, well worth it if you only have a short time in Rome and want to pack in as much as possible. Would definitely stay here again!

Very Highly Recommended This is the first time I have ever taken the time to write a review, but Sole al Pantheon was so good I couldnt resist. Fabulous location overlooking the Piazza and the Pantheon, the square and restaurants alive with locals and tourists alike until the early hours (so not so good if you like silence). Apparently one of the oldest hotels in the world dating back to the 15th Century, but fully modernized with a/c systems in the room, modern marble bathroom facilities and electronic entry. Huge breakfast selection considering such a small hotel. Highly recommended. Traveler's tip on dining Ignore their tip for a lunch place (must be his brothers place...). The restaurant out the door and 50 yards to the right is excellent.

The best view in Rome! Wake up early, throw some clothes on and go out onto the Piazza Della Rotonda to take some fab photos of the Pantheon without the crowds getting in the way! Also, take a taxi from the airport - the white ones are offical regulated taxis and charge a set tariff of around 45 euros (including a small baggage charge). The train would have cost us 33 euros so not a lot of difference for extra comfort and convenience.
