Sandra
Via Villafranca 10 - 00185 Rome
The hotel Sandra is situated in Rome approximately 1 km from the Termini railway station, in a quiet neighboorhood near the Castro Pretorio subway stop, the National Library and the La Sapienza university. The property is housed on the third floor of a 19th century building. The city center with its immortal monuments can easily and quickly be accessed thanks to the aforementioned underground service and the many buses running in the area.

Very clean and warm room, owner very friendly excellent economical rate per night and excellent location - literally 5mins from the railway station / coach station. Only downside was the shower in our room which took 5mins to warm up but if you can live with that then you get a cheap hotel in the centre of town.

On the pricey side, but it seems that everything in Rome is pricey. I stayed with my brother and they gave us a family room because we asked for a quiet room and it was the only one available. The place was good enough to sleep, sufficient for our needs

Cheap and cheerful, basic but clean. Lift an experience! Does not stop on 3rd floor where hotel is situated, have to walk down from 4th floor. Locked to hotel on ground floor have to walk up to 1st floor to access. Added to novelty!Easy-going fit middle-aged on a budget couples

We didn't expect much and got more. Room was changed to a quiet(er) and huge one. It's five min. from train/bus station. Man who checked us in spoke English. Breakfast was a bit of a let down: 5 € for a coffee, wroll & jam. If there's nothing better available, we'll be there again next time.

Elevator not working to the floor during 3 day stay. No access to elevator from ground floor entry. Hot water takes a while for shower. Cheap and functional.

The location is great, but it took awhile to find the place. (There's a very small sign by the door bell, and another larger sign around the 3rd floor.) The hotel itself is a great value, and the staff members are nice and helpful.

It was our first time in Rome and we really enjoyed it. The hotel was OK, and although it is rather simple, it is parallel with the price too, so we were roughly satisfied with it.

We had a great stay at the Sandra. Staff were helpful. The room was clean and whilst the shower was small everything in the room worked fine. We nicknamed the shower the "cone of silence". Toilet facilities were just down the hall, were well kept and vacant when we needed them. The hotel is situated 1 train stop or a 10 minute walk from Termini, has a supermarket nearby and enough well priced Trattoria around to eat well and cheaply. Overall we felt very comfortable here.

Just like described. The owner has to open the door to let you in. There is one major issue: Payment. Venere's information that you will not pay before arriving is incorrect. The cancellation fee was drawn from my account two weeks prior to the stay. Despite this, the hotel wanted full payment in cash at checkout. I'm still waiting for the money drawn from my account to be returned. I will probably have to ask my credit card issuer to contact Venere.
