Great Price for Great Trip FCO to hotel on the cheap (about 15 euros per person vs. 75 euros by cab) Take TrenItalia from FCO to Roma Tiburtina. At Roma Tiburtina, take subway to station Pietralata. (There is a grocery store next to subway station for snacks if you want) Take bus 211 toward Cimone (across from subway station). Get off at the Itor bus stop. Walk 1 block back towards hotel.

Great Price for Great Trip Interior of hotel nice, but outside is industrial/urban. Still, we & other tourists felt pretty safe from subway station to bus stop to hotel. A distance from the city, but that was a good thing if you want to get away from hustle & bustle of city after a long day of sightseeing. Hotel to city by bus/subway took about 30-40 minutes. Continental breakfast was good (redundant after 3 days) We had a nice room, although one of the folks we met complained of toxic fumes in their room. Get a room with a city facing view. I would definitely go back. I’ve posted pictures of front of hotel on another site that reviews this hotel. Review has same title as this one. Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks FCO to hotel on the cheap (about 15 euros per person vs. 75 euros by cab) Take TrenItalia from FCO to Roma Tiburtina. Least Pleasant Stay We were shocked that this earned 4 stars. The location is horrible (only redeemed by it's shuttle service), and the staff was less than helpful giving us directions there. We literally wandered for over an hour trying to find it. Electricity was out the first night we were there, so we had to get ready for bed with the hall door open, and with no A/C, we opened the window, and were covered in mosquito bites in the morning. On-site restaurant was pretty poor, and the included breakfast was decent. Would not book this again, nor would recommend it to anyone. Spend a little more, or sacrifice a bit of space or star rating for something better located.

Hidden charges Dont hire a car, use the trains, I found them cheap and reliable. And to get around the big citys, if you have one take your sat nav, mine had pedestrian mode and it was a great tool!

+ While i thought the restaurant staff were poor, the reception and bar staff were very good - The surrounding area was pretty rough looking. the service for the one evening meal had was very poor. the location of the hotel is not ideal for visiting the centre of rome

+ The prices were keen but they would need to be to compensate for the other significant failings of this hotel - 1. not 4 star, or if it is, which organisation awarded it? 2. in my opinion it is a 3 star hotel, and then only barely so. 3. shuttle bus didn't turn up at the appointed time leaving us waiting for 2 hours. 4. i overheard a conversation from another guest who had been left by the shuttle bus. 5. in spite of the isolated location, there are absolutely no banking or atm facilities and i was left to walk 4km through a rough area surrounding the hotel to reach an atm and back again, at night. hotel staff seemed indifferent to this. 6. the pool is apparently run seperately and there is a cost for using it. 7. local boys were rude to my 2 daughters, requesting and even shouting their requests for sexual favours. staff did absolutely nothing to prevent this even though it rather obviously upset my daughters and drove us away from the pool. 8. although the booking said that sattelite tv was included, it was extra and only available by subscription. 9. although internet was supposedly included (according to the booking) it was extra and only available by subscription. 10. given the mis-descriptions on the easy to book website, i seriously doubt that anybody ever actually looked at the hotel. i suspect in fact that the hotel filled in the forms describing itself. even the hotel flags had only 3 stars on them, whereas the letter headings and easy to book site listed 4 stars. no way 4 stars !
