I think that the price offered and the room quality was not proportionated. In Switzerland for such a price you can have a better room.

We had a wonderful visit to the La Rovere. This was our first trip to Italy and the accommodations were great. The staff was very helpful and made great efforts to communicate with us (we do not speak Italian). The rooms are a little small-but that's typical of Europe. The shower was extremely small (my husband is 6'6' so it was a show!) We were just glad to have one in our room! Breakfast isn't exciting, but we found that it was the same at all our stops in Italy-just part of a different culture. I would definately reccommend this property to others. In fact, that's how we found the place.

Very pleasant stay -- in triple room with a terrace. 24-hour concierge was a plus! Very convenient location with buses just a block away.

Only stay in this hotel if you are interested in being near the Vatican and care about nothing else - food, ambiance, location to other sites. I was very disappointed with our stay at this hotel and will never return. The problems were so numerous that I don't know where to begin - I requested a quiet room and instead got a room on an incredibly noisy street right over the front entrance. this also meant that our room would smell like smoke whenever someone went outside to the street to smoke. Although I had e-mailed to confirm and told them we were on our honeymoon, we were originally placed in a room with separate twin beds. It did not appear that they were ready for us at all, even though we were staying for 5 nights and had booked months in advance. The bathrooms were smaller than any I have ever stayed in (and i have stayed in many hotels in europe). The hospitality of the front desk was not very gracious or friendly. For example, our luggage was lost by the airlines. I was only barely permitted to check the status on-line. We rarely received smiles or any type of conversation as we were going in and out of the hotel. Additionally, the location is pretty awful. Even though it is very near the vatican, there are no restaurants near by (except the one on the corner that has very mediocre food) and all other sites are still quite a hike. The price was quite high considering the location and the lack of amenities or ambiance. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and will certainly never stay there again.

We had a more than pleasant stay in the hotel, the airco was very good and made hardly no noise. The balcony of room 302 was a very special extra, ideal to sit in the afternoon and evening, very quiet and private. Room number 303 has also a balcony. There is hardly no noise at night, very pleasant.

We would like to thank Venere.com for providing us with a hotel that was all that was promised. The staff at reception were waiting for us when we arrived and we got the rooms we had requested at the agreed price. This is contrary to other hotels that we have booked over the internet. We would recommend venere.com and definately use them again

The only characteristic I rated less than excellent was "spaciousness of rooms", but you're in Rome! Who's going to have people in their rooms! Go out and enjoy the city, and when you return, you will be warmly greeted and be able to retire to a cozy room for the night. The rooms with the balconies are worth the money. The view is great. The location of the hotel is perfect as you can hop over to the Vatican by crossing a pedestrian bridge over the main roads and walking through the new parking garage. Or cross the river and the city is upon you. One drawback about the hotel to note is that there are no tubs, and the shower stalls are a bit small. Other than that, higher up is better for a view and the elevator eliminates the stairs if you so please. Bring your walking shoes and enjoy the stay!

A nice quiet hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Good buffet breakfast. Easy walking distance to Trastavere where there are many excellent restaurants.
