Our family have stayed at The Rip Hotel twice this month of December 2005 and have had similar experiences both times. We enjoyed the design concept and the ambiance of this hotel and found the area fascinating and easily accessed. The we stayed in 2 bedroom suites on birth occasions and found them very clean and well appointed possibly the couches could be seen as a triumphs of design over comfort, but the whole experience was positive. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly especially when our younger son had an unfortunate illness related accident at breakfast!

Too far out of city centre for a first visit. Booked executive room but received very shabby unexecutive room until complained. Only received room booked and paid for on second day of visit. Staff on reception generally rude but one young lady was pleasant. Dining room at breakfast chaotic. Not a relaxing start to the day. Executive room nice and comfortable. Spoilt a very important celebratory visit. Would not go back.

Paper thin walls!!! The walls are soo thin that I could easily hear the guy on one side of me snoring and the couple on the other side of me sounding as if they were consumating their mariage. The door locks on it sounded like every door on my room were very disfunctional. To lock the door from the outside you had to shut the door while it was locked from the inside. In other words you had to really slam it. So every morning I’d hear early risers slamming their doors.Very irritating.

Enjoyed our Stay! The hotel was quite different from what we expected. The furniture was a little soiled in the sitting area and contemporary style. The location is great for walking to several points of interest. The front desk was very helpful anytime we had a question or needed something. We’d stay here again. Traveler's tip on dining There is a small side street very nearby that has a variety of restaurants to choose from. The path leads to a "square". We chose one on the way which had a very reasonable "tourista" menu. It has a combination which includes appetizer, 2 courses and dessert for a set fee. We liked it so well, we went back the next night.

Quiet, Comfortable & Professional Having traveled to Italy for over 20 years for both business & pleasure, I was very happy with my stay at the Hotel Ripa. The staff was professional & courteous. My room was clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. I was impressed how quiet my room was. My only complaint was the lack of shelf space and/or clothing hooks in the bathroom. Otherwise, this a wonderful hotel. Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks Please remember: a taxi ride from DaVinci to the Hotel Ripa has a fixed price, by law, of 40 Euros. Do not be fooled if the driver asks more!...its illegal. From the Hotel Ripa back to the airport is 45 Euros, fixed price, by law. If you would like to leave more, it is your discretion to do so.

The rooms were really spacious and nice and worth the money. The bathroom was a little flooded but good looking. The service staff was partly unfriendly. Still the Ripa is a good place to stay in Rome. Only a few minutes walk from Trastevere - excellent for going out at night.

Not impressed Hotel Ripa is quite a noisy place. Room walls are not sound proof, and conversation sound levels on ajacent rooms were UNACEPTABLE every single night. Hotel Ripa is located far away from Central Rome. this translate as.- Apian line Tours / Grey Line Tours will not pick you up or bring you back to the hotel as they always do with people booked at Central Rome Hotels. Tours start at 7:15 am and Hotel Ripa’s breackfast starts at 7:00 am. This schedule is unconveniente if you want to have breackfast before starting a booked day tour . A taxi Cab ride from Hotel Ripa to Apian Lines Tours located at Plaza del Esquilino , costs about $16.00 euros . It will take about 15 Min.to get there. and same price, same time coming back. Hotel Ripa’s personnel is friendly, and reliable. Room was noisy, but clean and tidy. Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay Get booked at a Central Rome District Hotel

The hotel was in a great location, with a grocery store literally right next door, which is a major plus when traveling. The service though left something to be desired, as the front desk was not very helpful in meeting the needs of guests. When I asked for a room that did not have the sun shine directly into it late in afternoon (AC wasn't allowed to be turned on in Italy yet and our room was boiling at 5 pm), they told me I would have to pay an additional $120 US/night to get a different room. I would not rececommend for the price - did not get my money's worth.
