The rating of poor is because of a dispute we had regarding the rate. We had a confirmation from a travel agent, and a follow-up memo from me, that the rate for 2 double rooms was to be 115 euros per night. When we checked out we were told that rate was 160 euros per night - I showed them the written confirmation we had, but they would not budge. We are disputing the matter now, because we stayed 4 nights and the difference was considerable. The hotel is average in amenities, the location is good (close to the main train station). Rooms are very small - we did not have much luggage and were crowded; people with large suitcases would not be comfortable in a standard room. The elevator is tiny; I do not think wheelchairs could be accomodated. Because of the unpleasant dispute we had over the rate (and the negative and unhelpful attitude of the staff, who insisted that the person who had confirmed my memo in a note back was never available to answer questions)I would not recommend this hotel for your stay in Rome. (The "3" rating in value is if we had received the rate of 115 euros which had been guaranteed. For the rate of 160 euros I would rate it a "1").

We made a reservation thru the internet for 3 nights/non-smoking for 125 Euro/night during July 2006. As soon as we entered our room, we had to request for a room change. The air-condition is extremely loud that my husband couldn't hear me talk at all. The room is so tiny and old. The bathroom is stinky and it's so small that can't even fit a regular bath tub in. So we went down to request a different room, the staff told us with my rate, that's what we can get. So she suggested us to upgrade our room for 20 euro extra/night. We just had to take it since we know we would not be able to rest at all with that loud air-conditioning. The up-graded room is still not renovated like it said in their web-site. The room is still not in good shape, but the bathroom has a tub and cleaner than the other one. Most important is that the air-conditioning is quieter. The room still has ash-tray like the first room. My husband called front-desk, and the staff said if we don't smoke, it just became a non-smoking room. So this hotel actually don't have non-smoking room at all. We will absolutely not pick this hotel again if we go to Rome again. They claimed the hotel was competely renovated in their web-site----Liar!!!! I wonder how many room they have actually look like the one in their web-site. I can only imagine how many tourists got con into booking their rooms.

The location was o.k. because it was close to the train station, but the rooms were extremely small and depressing. The hotel was not characteristic at all and I would not recommend it to travelers visiting Rome.

I stayed at Hotel Morgana for a couple of nites in July, 2004 after booking with them online. The room I received was sub-par and very small. The air conditioning was an in-room unit that was loud and clunked off and on all night. You can imagine with the heat in Rome. In addition, this is a favorite stop for tour groups, which the hotel seems to cater more to than their individual guests. So a tour group arrives in the AM, grabs the good rooms and then we arrived in the late afternoon to check in, only the lesser rooms were available. While the price was affordable, I would have gladly paid additional $$ to stay somewhere else and get a decent night's sleep.

+ We arrived 45 minutes before our check in time and were greeted by exceptionally friendly staff who all spoke excellent english. the room was a family room and was more than adequate. the bathroom and room were spotlessly clean. breakfast is a continental style and is served from 06:45 which is ideal as it then allows you a very early start for sightseeing.

This hotel was quite stunning. The room was very impressive and aesthetically appealing. The bathroom had both a shower head and a handheld unit, which was very convenient. The inclusion of a wall safe was a plus as well. In the mornings, the breakfast bar had a great selection and the staff was helpful and friendly. My particular room wasn't designed for a family in mind, but for a couple having a romantic holiday together it was perfect!

I stayed at this hotel 2 weeks ago. We paid 215 eu through the internet. we got a double room with an addtional bed. However the place we stayed was so small we only had 12 inches between our legs to walk around. What is worst is that their first floor windows had grills in them. In an event of fire, since all the hotels wall are paded and floors carpeted and they have only one fire exit which the doors are always open you know what will happen. On the bright side, they have helpful staff and better buffet breakfast and a toilet as big as the small room.
