Location. The Art Deco Hotel Lord Byron in Rome, Italy, borders the Borghese gardens in the exclusive Parioli neighbourhood. The Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and Via Condotti and Via Veneto's shops are two kilometres away, ten minutes by complimentary shuttle. The closest metro station is Flaminio. Hotel Features. Set in a 1930s patrician villa, the hotel has marble steps and a white gloved doorman. Art Deco touches including silver light fixtures decorate the lobby. There are fresh flowers and books in the lounge. Mirrored walls, octagonal tables and high backed chairs furnish the Art Deco style restaurant, serving Italian dishes such as pasta rolls with trout and black truffle sauce. In the late night Il Salotto Lounge and Wine Bar, guests can enjoy Mediterranean cuisine and cocktails in a 1930s style setting with mirrors, striped carpets, deep red fabric chairs and dark wood furnishings. Original art from the owner's collection decorates the bar. The hotel serves evening port and petits fours and complimentary buffet breakfast. The hotel has meeting rooms, business services, complimentary newspapers and complimentary valet parking. There is a rooftop garden at the hotel. Guests enjoy discounts at a nearby fitness centre. Guestrooms. The Hotel Lord Byron's 32 climate controlled guestrooms feature 1930s inspired interiors, floor length curtains and mahogany or rosewood furniture. Some rooms have balconies with garden or city views. All include satellite television, dial up Internet ports, minibars, and complimentary bottled water. Traditional paintings decorate the vintage marble bathrooms, which contain bathrobes and slippers. Expert Tip. Atypically for Rome, early 20th century works of art by Northern European artists, part of the owner's private collection, are displayed throughout the hotel.

A Good Hotel This is a really nice hotel. Number one plus: It’s quiet. Don’t be disturbed by the location on the far side of the Borghese Park. It is steps away from the Italian National Modern Art Museum (worth a see, by the way, the only non-crowded museum we went to in Italy and a beautiful collection gorgeously housed)and at most a 15-minute walk through the park to the Piazza del Popolo, a major square/gathering place near lots of shopping and food choices. The hotel didn’t have the comfiest beds ever, but everything else was very well done. Lovely art deco themed decor, really good restaurant (hugely expensive, as was everywhere), very nice service. The bathrooms are really nice. It’s a relaxing, intimate place. They have different sized rooms so investigate according to your needs before booking. We had small rooms, but we had smaller elsewhere during our stay. They are well laid out. One drawback, the TV service--no CNN. A lot of Brits apparently frequent the place so English language offerings on TV were from the UK. But who’s watching TV? A good place. Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay Only drawback that would keep me from staying again here: In the evening it’s not close to restaurants. We walked to one recommended by the concierge which was down the street and we hated it. He’d sent others from the hotel there as well. We taxied to a really good pizza place another night, sent by the hotel. Otherwise you’re walking through the park or the long way around back to the Piazza del Popolo area, and we didn’t want to walk through the park at night.

Wonderful hotel in a quite location The Lord Byron is a beautiful hotel located in an "off the beaten path" park setting. The rooms are a decorated a bit too modern for my personal taste, but very well appointed. The staff is very professional and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again myself.

I was concerned with reviews (from this site) that mentioned the location of the property was too far removed from places guests wanted to visit. While the property is not in the prime tourist locales, we thought this was an added benefit because it was away from the noise and congestion of those venues. It was a nice retreat from the action of the central city, and only a $7 cab ride from even the most removed tourist venues (e.g., Vatican city which is across the river). Staff was delightful and full of appropriate recommendations, including traditional restaurants, the best pizzarias, the newest "in places", etc. The hotel is wonderfully maintained in the art deco style (which isn't for everyone) which was an added benefit. Beautiful common areas, felt as if you were returning home after a long day/night on the town.

great service next to park This is a fantastic small hotel with great service. We ate at the hotel restaurant and it was also first rate. This is a quiet place so don’t go expecting a lively bar scene. We also went to the sister hotel in Florence which was first rate also. We will definitely go back.
