+ - very good location. 10 minutes walk to all major sights ~ apart from vatican city ~ however, there is a number 64 bus stop, 2 minutes from the hotel. - easy to get to from termini and possible to walk. (expect to pay around 25-30 euros for a taxi from the station to the hotel) - rooms were clean, if a little small and basic. - bathroom was big and well equipped. - hotel staff are happy to help, night and day. be sure to get a map from reception which details all the major sights. when we arrived, the receptionist marked the bus stops and quickest routes to the sights, which was very helpful. - electronic safe in the room is very helpful. - - 6 flights of stairs to climb to get from the street level, to the hotel lobby on the 3rd floor. there is a lift available, but it is very small and sometimes takes a while to arrive. - breakfast isn't a very extensive selection and the breakfast room isn't really a 'room' ~ more, a few tables in a corridor. - you have to leave your key witht the receptionist whenever you leave the hotel. this is not a major problem, but can get a little annoying if nobody is manning the desk when you arrive/leave. - after around 7pm, you have to use a 'buzzer' to get back through the main hotel gates on the street level. again, not a big problem.

We spent very pleasent 5 nights at Galatea hotel: clean, surprisingly quiet, discret et efficient services, satisfying size of our room, a very good geografic position: in the walking distance to Rome principal monuments. Conclusions: excelent rapport price/quality

+ It was located perfectly. the romes were very decorated and comfortable. - Slightly thin walls, so could be noisy in the mornings. it never woke us up in the middle of the night.

Good central location. OK location for the price. Continental breakfast a bit skimpy but still it was included. Beds very firm if you like that. Not a lot of street noise at night but the floors are all terrazzo so if there are late arriving guests you will hear them in the halls. Make sure you have a good map or directions if you are coming from Termini station. We got lost and wandered around a bit before finding the hotel. No fun when you are pulling 2 weeks of clothes in your suitcase. No washcloths are included like many European hotels so bring one if you must have one. No 110 volt to recharge camera ect. so don’t forget adapters. Elevator is tiny but is one of the few anywhere in Rome. Be prepared to climb a lot of steps sightseeing in Rome. Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks Wow’ the Euro is really terrible now. Think twice about Europe this year, or double what you think you will spend.

+ Location - Don't take room 302. the room nearby is using for dishwash and not quite.

Great small hotel Galatea is a quiet, small hotel in a good location close to train, historic distict. Only thing far was the Vatican.Clean room with well equipt bathroo. Friendly English speaking staff with maps and directions and recommendations to tourist areas and restaurants. Would definitely go back. Traveler's tip on shopping Good shopping close by on the via Nazionale. Also wear comfortable, sturdy walking shoes especially for historic areas as the ground is very uneven with a lot of stairs.
