The breakfast on the rooftop was also excellant. If you get the chance ask for Room 201 amazing view of the church which is really worth a visit. Thank you expedio for recommending this hotel. It was a 4 day trip to celebrate my daughters 30th birthday and the 4 of us had a ball.

Hotel Doria is centrally and conveniently located near the train station- an easy walk with luggage. Perfect for taking the train to the airport-rooms are immaculate and include a flat screen TV. Rates are very fair and include breakfast. Staff is friendly, enthusiastic and cheerful. Speak English very well.

Wonderful and satisfying The hotel is comfortably located 5 minutes from Termini and just across Santa Maria Magiore church. Decent size room for 2 people (me and my daughter), clean, very nice and helpful staff. Great value for money! Traveler's tip on shopping Just acroess the hotel there’s a wonderful little shop of the Carmelite nuns, with cosmetics, honey, olive oil etc. - all organic and made by the nuns!

In the reservation we asked for a quiet room. At our arrival we got a room on the street side of the hotel. The reception host excused himself that he overlooked our request. It was very noisy due to the trafic during the whole night. The day after we moved to a quiet room. The rooms were very comfortable and very clean. Belgians are very copious and like fresh food. The breakfast was quantatively all right, but we missed fresh baked bread, hotcakes, rolls. The open breakfast area with a view on the city is beautiful. Anayway, we think a stay in this hotel is worth while and we will come back.

Good Value The Fiddler's Elbow Irish bar is just around the corner. We went there twice during our brief stay in Rome. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere during open mike night was incredible.

The helpful and friendly staff at the Doria and the presentation of the rooms were highlights, as was the nice breakfast served top floor (and out on the roof garden when the breakfast room was full - with a surprise view of the Colosseum). Unfortunately, the hotel is on busy Via Merulana, and while this makes it handy to the train station "Termini", and within walking distance of the Fontana di Trevi, Pantheon, and the Colosseum, (1/2 hour to 40 mins away) the traffic noise and sirens can't help but get through the shutters, and it's not the most salubrious end of town. However, I would recommend the Doria for its quality rooms and helpful staff.

Hotel Doria Go to may of the pizza places for lunch and take your pick from the many topping. The pizza slices are charged by their weight so depending on how big your slices are is the price you pay. Still very cheap even if you get a few slices
