The experience with this hotel has ruined our vacation memories. It seems like a very small and overpriced hotel which is trying to compensate by cheating tourists! We were charged 93.00 euro per night to have our 7-year old stay with a cot in our already cramped "triple suite." We had originally online booked two rooms and requested them to be on the same floor since we were traveling with our young kids. When we found out the rooms would be on different floors , a logistical nightmare, we tried in vain for weeks to contact the hotel via the email listed on their web site. We finally got an unpublished email (a family member who arrived earlier had to go in person to the hotel!) and got someone to make the change on the day before our arrival. We were never informed of the exorbitant 30% increase over the quoted rate to have a cot placed in the room. In addition to the absolutely outrageous charge, we were also charged the 30% extra for the two days when we didn't even have the additional person in the room (one day we missed due to flight delay but had to pay anyway due to cancellation policy and the other day when we actually reserved a second room on the same floor to have a little breathing room! )When I contacted the hotel reservation manager regarding this overcharge, she initially protested but then agreed to offer a small refund. Then she stopped responding to our emails and we have not been refunded! Very unprofessional behavior and I worry about cheating other tourists. Be careful with this hotel... our experience has lessened my desire to return to Rome!

In November 2006, I reserved a room, confirmed with a credit card, for a 1-day stay in May 2007. I RECONFIRMED the reservation in March 2007. Upon arrival, the hotel refused to honor my reservation. The clerk made some vague references to a "problem" she refused to define, and shunted us off to another hotel. Her apology was rote and insincere. I strongly recommend against this hotel.

The hotel has been upgraded with new tile floors and remodeled bathrooms. Our room was better than expected with a beautiful bathroom. The staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. For two older women, we found the location was within easy walking distance to many attractions and shopping. We also felt very safe and comfortable at this hotel. I would definitely stay at the Hotel Forte again when in Rome.

Overall good and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was excellent. I was a little disappointed with the standard of the room and bathroom but then we were in central Rome and the price was relativly reasonable. Top tip: Don't be lazy, learn some basic Italian before you travel...it goes miles.

Excellent location and very helpful staff. Our room (French Bed) was very small but it was clean. Very small bathroom. Breakfast included in the price (but very basic). Good relation price/quality, anyway. The best: the location.

The location was excellant and the staff very helpful. The room was, to say the least, small with very little room to walk or move on one side of the bed. Writing desk and bed actually met at the end of the bed so you had to climb over the end of the bed!! The room was very dark as it was not possible to open the window shutters fully. We had to have a light on al the time. Only space to layout one suitecase and very limited storage space. The continental breakfast was good though there were a limited number of tables at which to sit. This made for a rushed meal! Despite all this the stay was good and would return to the Hotel, but in a bigger room.

It was nice, staff were polite and welcoming, room clean, but very small. Breakfast I`d rate 4/10.

First stay at Hotel Forte for a group of four, 60-something college friends travelling to recapture the excitement of trips to Rome 40 years earlier. Staff was very helpful. One of our group travels to Rome frequently and compares Hotel Forte favorably to other much more expensive hotels where she has tayed on previous trips.
