The hotel is really beautiful. Upon our arrival we were told that we had to go to another hotel the following night. I asked why and no one would tell me. Then our room was facing nothing but old pipes on the 2nd floor. That was IT! My husband and I went to work. We called the manager and said we will not accept the room. We were upgraded to a beautiful room.

Exedra Walking from the Exedra is best option; the metro + buses are easy to use and cheap.

We visited Rome in early October, the perfect time of year in my opinion. We encountered no rain and it wasn't cold at all, just beautiful sunny skies.

Nice but expensive Get the 3 or 7 day metro pass which is great for getting around. tours are not really necessary for the vatican museum because you can get english audio guides for much cheaper at 6 euros and you can take your time or skip sections as you please. tickets for the colloseum can be purchased down the road at the Palatino where the queues are much shorter.

Competent staff, beautiful rooms, excellent location -- the Excedra definited my expectations for five star hotels. It wasn't as personable as a small hotel (such as the Hotel Santa Catarina on the Amalfi coast) and breakfast wasn't included with my stay (surprising) but after a day of romping around in Rome it was a pleasant sanctuary.

This hotel was marvelous!!!! The staff was very friendly and knowledgable. I was there for a month and it truly was a home away from home. It is close to transportation and walking distance for many great resturants. The only drawback was...

The hotel entrance is wide open and very beautiful. Snacks and such are stocked daily in the plush lobby. Internet access downstairs for an extra charge. Clean elevators and a catchy tune playing at all times. The location of the hotel is phenomenal. Truly walking distance to the train station and a subway stop literally 15 feet from the front steps. A bakery across the street and also a pharmacy for that cold sore flare up. We purchased subway passes and used taxi services minimally since the subway could take you to most places. It was a lot more fun than I had imagined. A truly memorable experience indeed. Overall, I would highly recommend the Boscolo Exedra for your next trip to Italy. Helpful service and clean/comfortable amenities. One word of caution, look out walking to the train station. You have to circle around the back of the building and we ran into some punks that tried to start something by kicking aluminum cans at me and my wife. Oh! And the pickpockets are for real. Wallet in my front pocket and the girl still had the audacity to try and lift it from me. You can spot them at any subway station....wandering eyes and they usually are working with a partner.
