This hotel is located at the base of the Via Veneto. It's a great, central location. The neighborhood is very pleasant. Public transportation is very accessible. It's located on a quieter street, but if you have a room on the street side, it can still be a little noisy due to street traffic. The public areas are a bit shabby -- needing a little deeper cleaning and regular maintenace. The room itself was very comfortable and well equipped. It, too, could have used some deeper cleaning and minor maintenance. All-in-all, it seems to be a good find for Rome when compared to hotels of similiar categories.

This was my second trip to Rome, and Hotel 53 is outstanding! Each morning we awoke to the smell of fresh baked bread! We had the suite with the wrap around terrace, which was amazingly beautiful. The staff spoke relatively good English, and most of them were pretty helpful. The breakfast was typical, yet charming. I would recommend this hotel to EVERYONE!

This is our first stay in Rome, so I had a little adjustment with the small room. The location was great and the staff was Excellent. Patricia did an outstanding job cleaning and hosting the breakfast, which was the hilight of our day. Christie, at the front desk, was very helpful and fun.

Excellent location, very pleasant staff,but..... We recently stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The location is excellent close to the fontana de Trevi,The Spanish Steps, metro stations,Via Veneto etc.The staff is lovely, very pleasant and good in helping with all kind of directions. Now,the hotel condition is no good, the room was pretty big with a balcony and a jacuzzi, but it was very run down. There was a big spot of MOLD in the shower ceiling, you could find dust accumulated in the corners of the room ,the walls were dirty and my bed was like missing a leg which made it sideways. The linens and the towels were inmaculately clean.I think that with a little maintenance it would be a very good moderated priced hotel

Rooms were neat and quiet. Rome is always tough to find decent accommodations at sane prices, this was a great place to stay for the value.

Good for location but very basic For those looking for something very basic this is ideal as its biggest plus point is its location. However it is not suitable for those looking for a romantic trip to Rome as the rooms are ver small and the hotel lacks facilities such as a bar or lounge. The reception people were not the friendliest either, especially when we reported that there was a drainage problem is our shower which caused the foulest smell and there response was "it's like this in every room!". However breakfast was very adequate and and again the location was fantastic.
