Campo De Fiori B&B Rome

Via dei Giubbonari, 4300186 Rome, Italy+39 320/9475956 - 06001 Rome

The B&B Campo de' Fiori is a new and charming bed and breakfast situated in one of the most beautiful antique areas of Rome, located in a building dated 1600. From its windows which overlook the splendid Piazza Campo de’ Fiori you can breath and experience the atmosphere of Rome during the renaissance period and admire in the background the cappella of the S. Andrea della Valle church.Just one of the only characteristics of this location is the possibility during the day to visit the oldest market place in Rome (Campo de’ Fiori) where you can meet the real roman residents, whilst in the evening the square changes completely face and becomes a meeting point for all people of all ages and nationalities. A location rich of culture offering beautiful fountains, important museums, boutiques and art galleries, coffee shops and tipical restaurants all within walking distance. In a few minutes you may admire the baroque Piazza Navona, St. Peter’s and the Vatican, the Colosseum, the Trevi fountain, the Spanish Steps, and the typical Trastevere, places that will enchant you making your stay a memorable holiday.Piazza Navona is one of the most characteristics places which recalls the eternal spirit of Rome. The elliptical shape of this square is due to Emperor Domitian: in AD 86 he had a stadium built on this site in which he instituted games in the Greek style. Domitian stadium was stripped of its marbles in 356 by Constantinus II on a visit to Rome and by the 5C it was in ruins. It came to life again during the Renaissance when it was rebuilt by Pope Innocent X in 1644, turning the square into one of the most beautiful sights in Rome. There are three fountains in the square: the one of the Rivers (created by Bernini), the one of the Moor and the fountain of Neptune.

This place is all about the location, smack in the middle of Rome in a lovely area. I was a solo female traveller and felt completely safe walking around the streets here until the early hours of the morning. And the service, fantastic. Single room has no windows though, and is rather small, but you really won't spend any time there. I woudl definitely stay here again!

The third floor is renowated and is nice but unfortunately we got the apartment on the first floor. If you have facitilities in the room, they should at least work: hit the tv, ref.out of order, no toilet paper and showering in dripping water and toilet with a dying flush. Someone was smoking in the other room which made a bad odour in the room. Location is superb, staff is very helpful. I recommend this B&B if you get the room at the third floor.
