We paid for a triple room with minibar, aircon, television and shower. We were put into a double room, had an extra bed shoved in, and only the shower worked. In addition, our door was so old and creaky that it could be forced open and shut even when it was locked, and it opened out into a busy sitting area. No points. To be fair, I'll say that the hotel was quite beautiful, and convenient to just about everywhere in central Rome.

The hotel location was excellent for sight-seeing. The room was depressing. Breakfast was very good. Bathroom was clean and well-equipped.

The location was excellent. Very centrally located to all the major attractions. The service was fair. Breakfast was good. Our sink was broken but overall clean.

Great location and that’s about it! Our first impression of Ara Pacis was good. We loved the high carved ceilings, the slendid location, and the general old word feel. The breakfasts were decent although the room was crowded. Then we slept on the beds (hard as a rock with teeny-tiny flat hard pillow), and then the toilet lid split in half. To fix the toilet seat, another cheap ill-fitting seat was attached--with a shoe string! Next, the left door on the closet bureau fell off. The third day of our stay the right closet door fell off. There was an odd circular hole in our window that was plugged up by a plastic item (something not intended to plug circular window holes) that kept slipping out, and thus letting the frigid winter weather in. On the third day, the duct tape that kept the shower head on burst, leaving us to take a shower under a stream of water coming from the pipe. After our fifth and final night, we were counting the hours until check out time. Traveler's tip on local attractions The Vatican, the Spanish Steps and Plaza Navona are blocks away.
