Otherwise it would have been a nice place to stay overnight, but there was a really strong smell of tobacco in our children's room. It was disturbing. Also we got neighbours in the middle of the night and the noise from their room was so loud that it was impossible to sleep. We accidentally left some items into our room (a map of Italy and a calender of Tuscany) the morning we left (We were busy getting to the airport).I know it's too much to hope that these items would have been sent us by mail, but it would have been nice to get them...Also english speaking staff would have been nice. We wanted to pay by Visa, but that morning it wasn't possible. Luckily we had some cash left.

It is a wonderful property. The location is a little far away from everything, but quite charming. Price was quite competitive and reasonable.

The hotel is nice. The host and the staff are welcoming. Rooms are clean and very quiet. But the breadfast is poor. And it's a little far from downtown. (Bus -> Metro B to Colosseo, and Bus -> Metro B -> Metro A to Vantican)

The employee performing the checkout didn't know how to process the credit card payment, so we couldn't pay, but had to do it later on via bank wire transfer. The room is ok, the surroundings good and quite.

Have in mind, Antica Locanda Palmieri is not a hotel, it is a row of small bungalows. Very poor breakfast.

We're very experienced American travellers in Italy and Europe. We were surprised that the hotel resembled a southern California seaside motel ... without the sea. Low building, lots of flowers, trees, garden, and walkways. Very pleasant for within-the-boundaries-of-Rome. We always have a car on all of our trips ... and that's an absolute necessity if you stay here. The place is rather remote from downtown tourist sites. However ... the location is quite handy for the many sites on the Via Appia Antica and in the EUR district ... again if you have a car. The hotel was an excellent off-season value at €75 per night. We booked at €80 for two nights, but were graciously given a third night ... after some hondling ... at €65 ... for an average of €75, including very basic breakfast. The rooms lack any sort of floor or wall coverings ... so any noises are magnified. Fortunately, we had quiet neighbors ... but that could be a problem if other guests are rowdy. It did have a handy little fridge though. There's a very good local supermarket about a half-mile away, and a decent Chinese restaurant. However, the nearest ATM was a difficult search away. Drive to this hotel in your car ... park it inside the secure lot provided free ... and you'll have an enjoyable stay.
