Nice Neighborhood Location, Poor Service There is a great restaurant just down the road from this hotel. If you are walking toward the Vatican, take a left turn on the main road. I don't remember what it was called, but the eggplant Parmesean was the best I ever had. Also across the street from this restaurant is a real good gelateria (better than most that I had in Italy).

Although the hotel was a bit hard to find originally, it was located in the perfect area. Just a few minutes from St. Peter's and the Vatican and very close to the Metro. It was located in a very quiet neighborhood which I as a single woman traveling alone felt very safe walking through at night.

Distinctly Average the hotel is a short walk from the vatican, and the number 64 bus which is not far away take you straight to the centre with all the other attractions, also it is a short walk from the train station so great access to and from the airport.

Va Bene I didn't plan to stay all day long in the hotel during my time in Rome, and I am a man of a simple needs, so I didn't really need anything when my eyes are closed. This is not expansive hotel and has a pretty good location, and is very quiet. Main streets are only few blocks away, but you wouldn't even know about it. While in there I never used any other means of transportation except for my own legs and probably got a best experience of staying in this place getting around anywhere I need. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Just ask them to wake you up in a morning when you need it. If you need a reservation for a specific museum they will do it for you. If you want to save a buck then this is the place to spend your nights, because during the day you will be running enjoying every little bit of the Eternal City.

+Very conveinant to Vatican City, local grocery store, and train station. -Not many places to eat close by. Everything closed on Mondays. Could not get SKY television to work in our room. Called front desk and they could not help.

To be honest, I did not have high expectations for any of the hotels in Italy from reading everyone else's comments. I was satisfied with the hotel because it had a heater & hot water (very important for November), a fridge, an elevator, cable TV with eng

Nice Neighborhood Location, Poor Service I stayed in Hotel Allesandro for 2 nights. It is really close to the Vatican, but was a little hard to find. I really like the location of this hotel. It’s withing walking distance the Vatican as well as buses that will take you to all of Rome’s attractions. It is also close to Rome San Pietro train station if you are taking a regional train into or out of Rome. The room I stayed in was large and the beds were comfortable. There was mini-fridge in my room as well, however, the maid didn’t empty it from the previous guest and there was some old food in there. THe floors of my room had quite a few stains. The shower door had a big crack in it and leaked water all over the floor. The air condtioner in my room was broken. I went to talk to the front desk staff about it, but he ignored me for about 10-15 minutes while he was talking on the phone with his friend. When he took the time to talk to me, he said all of the A/C units in the hotel were currently not working, although from what I noticed it seemed to be working fine in the lobby. The hotel has WiFi, but there is a fee for it (I don’t remember the price, but it was expensive). The breakfast that is included was all right. There were a couple of pastry choices, some bread and jam. The hotel itself was okay, but I didn’t care for the staff. Traveler's tip on dining There is a great restaurant just down the road from this hotel. If you are walking toward the Vatican, take a left turn on the main road. Apartment condition offered from the hotel Three of us stayed in the Apartment A which locates outside the hotel. Bad points: There is no phone service, no chair to sit, no refrigerator, no drinking glass, no daily cleaning, and no breakfast included. The shower has a sliding door that fall out every time we close the door. Our original selection was three people stay together..we had no idea what we were getting; just expected the place will provide standard services. We left for the airport at 4 AM in the morning, the hotel lobby was locked and no attendant. The hotel staff told us somebody will be around for us to return the key! So now we understood why there is nothing provided in the apartment that can be costly to the hotel! Good points: Hotel staffs are very helpful and flexible which made the stay more acceptable. You can make local phone calls (taxi) at the lobby, no cost. The hotel locates on the hill but the walk to the Vatican is not bad. There is water hydrant along the street near by the apartment that flows non stop and drinkable. We drunk it and it was very cold and refreshing. We didn’t know at first so we bought water and carried up hill! We wished that the hotel should spell out the condition of the apartment to the customers so at least they know what they are getting.
