Albergo Del Senato
Piazza Della Rotonda 73 - 00186 Rome
Location. The Albergo del Senato in Rome, Italy is a Baroque and Renaissance inspired hotel, located on the Piazza della Rotonda, directly opposite the Pantheon. Several of Rome's historical landmarks are nearby. The Trevi Fountain, immortalized by Fellini's film, 'La Dolce Vita', is 500 meters away, and the Coliseum and Ste Peter's Cathedral are both within three kilometers. Leonardo da Vinci Airport is 30 kilometers from the hotel. Hotel Features. Diamond patterns in the marble floors, area rugs and chandeliers decorate the Albergo Del Senato's lobby. Framed by arched doorways and complimented with pecan colored wood, the 24 hour front desk's multilingual staff provides express check in/check out services. The hotel's late night cocktail bar extends onto the roof terrace in the summer months, enabling patrons to enjoy a panoramic view of Rome. The breakfast room serves a continental buffet surrounded by Italian artwork and architecture. Guestrooms. The 57 air conditioned guestrooms at the Albergo Del Senato are decorated with antique furniture, patterned wallpaper, rich fabrics and heavy drapes. All rooms feature minibars, safes and marble bathrooms. Expert Tip. The Pantheon, directly across from the hotel, was originally built as a temple to the seven deities of the seven planets, but has been a Christian church since the 7th century. It is the best preserved of all Roman buildings and the oldest important building in the world with its original roof intact. The only natural light enters through an unglazed oculus at the center of the dome and through the bronze doors to the portico. As the sun moves, striking patterns of light illuminate the walls and floors of porphyry, granite and yellow marble. Admission is free.

The Albergo Del Senato is a fabulous hotel situated right in the heart of historic Rome. The hotel is right next to the Pantheon and has grand views of the Pantheon and the surrounding court area with a beautiful fountain, great restaurant's and shops surrounding it. Myself and 2 of my business companions stayed here on a business trip in February 2006. The hotel is stylish yet quaint and has a fantastic staff. The rooms are very nice and there is a very good continental breakfast available in the morning. The best part about the hotel is it's location right in the center of historic Rome where you can walk to everything. We were able to walk and see the majority of Romes attractions in a day and a half. Also being right next to the Pantheon and opening your window and looking right at the Pantheon 20 yards away is unbelievable. The price is very affordable and based on the quality of the hotel, service, views, & location and I don't believe you could find a better value in Rome. I would highly, highly recommend this to all travelers and I plan on going back with my family.

One of the best things about the hotel is the perfect location. A few blocks to the west is the Piazza Navone. To the south, the Forum, Largo Argentina and the Piazza Campo Fiori. The Corso and the Fontana di Trevi are a few blocks to the east. Finally, to the north, is the Altar of Peace and the Piazza del Popolo. And there are great places to eat everywhere. We walked all over the place. I definitely have to go back to Rome, and when I do, I plan to again stay at the Albergo del Senato.

I travelled through Europe w/ my best girlfriend in the summer of 2002. Out of all the hotels we stayed at in Europe, this was, by far the best one. It is perfectly located in Rome right next to the Pantheon, which every room has a view. All Rome tourists attraction are w/in walking distance and the best part it is every afternoon they serve bellini's and appetizers on the roof terrace at sunset which commands a view of the entire sity, its amazing. The staff was wonderful and the rooms were very nice, I definitely would go back again.

Exceptional hotel! Location is superb Get the Tartufo (with cream) at the lovely Gelateria at the edge of Piazza Navona. Helpful and friendly staff w/yummy flavours. Also, buy a one-day metro pass (4 euros). You can't buy tickets on the bus but this pass will let you hop on and off the metro and buses around the city. Lifesaver in August when walking in 90 degree heat! Plus, the bus system isn't too hard to figure out. Signs at bus stops are very helpful.

Ended a two-week vacationin Italy with a stay at Del Senato in late July '06. Wonderful experience. Staff, service, location. Air conditioning seemed spotty. However, our understanding was an extreme heat wave in Rome. Would not keep us from highly recommending this great little hotel. Waivered on the value rating as this is difficult to attest to during peak tourist season not only at Del Senato, but anywhere in Italy. Easy walk to any of the attractions in Rome. Great service, very helpful with info and arranging transportation. Fabulous view from rooftop bar.
