About 25 minutes from Bari airport. Stayed 2 nights here & found it very pleasant. Football fans will love it here. An Italian 2nd div. team were staying at the same time & the foyer area is full of memorabilia & photos of countless top players & managers who have stayed here. Breakfast at the hotel was superb - loads of fresh fruit. The cherries were magnificent. There are 2 good restaurants close by- enjoyed them both.

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Villa from 12-17 April 2008 on a bed and breakfast basis. The hotels main accommodation block has just been completed refurbished. Our room our was completely new. New bathroom with a powerful shower, flat screen TV with sky, fridge, the room was completed to a high standard. The hotel is lovely .. The grounds are full of trees and flowers . At the time we visited the swimming pool was empty, but would be open from May onwards. The breakfast was excellent. Cereals, fresh bread, fruits, yogurts, cheeses, cooked meats, eggs and cakes etc . The staff made the holiday being friendly and helpful. The owners son helped us with places to visit in the local area, he spoke perfect English. All the staff were wonderful and took the time to chat explain about the local food and culture. I would have no hesitation in recommending Hotel Villa to anyone Puglia is a lovely place to visit, so unspoilt. You do need a car to explore the area. My husband can speak Italian, which was helpful as English is not widely spoken in Puglia, take a phrase book.

My Husband has been travelling to this area on Businness for 20 years, and when we were invited to attend a wedding there, he was concerned,as he says he has yet to find a good hotel in the area. I booked the Hotel Villa on the internet, and when we arrived my Husband was pleasantly suprised. We had a wonderful room, and our travelling companions also said there room was wonderful, lots of useful toiletries in the bathroom.Good aircon. Staff and owners were hands on ,nothing was too much trouble Breakfast was buffet style with lovely fresh figs handed out by the owner, hot breakfast if you asked. Pool area and gardens were a pleasure, nice pool side bar with simple snack menu. ice cream etc 10 min walk down to the sea, nice for a stroll along the wall with the locals. We did not eat our evening meals in the Hotel as we were with the Wedding Party,so I cannot comment on this area,

A family run hotel. The Hotel Villa had a warm and very welcoming atmosphere, the staff were keen to help and the food at the hotel was lovely. There is a pool and small spa, with loungers and a bar which also served ice creams (great for the kids). We had a spacious room with two balconies which we could sit out on when the children were asleep, the room service was really efficient as was all the hotels services. The hotel has had famous people stay over the years such as Sofia Loren! Its is classed as a four star hotel which i felt was appropriate for this region, the facilities were clean and well maintained. The town of Bisceglie was a mix of old and new, the small harbour and winding alleys are packed with character, the square came alive in the evening with family's young couples and children all talking, playing, eating, or just meandering. The Hotel was in a good location to drive out to visit some of the fantastic sights that are in this area, such as Alberobello, which was an hours drive. Castel del Monte, medeval castle with panoramic views is a must, as well as the caves, Castellana which were awe inspiring and the abundant vin yards and olive groves, which cover this region. Oustuni was a little further but definatley worth a visit. Trani, another small harbour was just a few minutes drive from the hotel, and again bursting with life in the evenings and boasted a beautiful cathedral, there were lots of shops and fantastic restaurants, and the markets well worth a mention. My family and I really enjoyed our stay at this well run friendly hotel, where we were made to feel welcome and there was always a willingness to help. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Hotel Villa.

Stayed at start of Nov 07. This hotel is convenient for visiting the delightful town and port of Trani( 10 minutes) and the Gargarno peninsula ( just over an hour), as well as being only 25 minutes from Bari Airport. It is handy for late arrivals, early departures. Hotel was well ‘signposted’ from at least two of the Bisceglie exits from SS16. Despite the torrential rain, the hotel had a welcoming ambience. It was set back from the main road, so there was no road noise. The receptionists were very helpful. There was an end of season feel to the hotel, but there were sufficient guests to give it atmosphere. The restaurant was closed, but the bar was open. The rooms were reasonable size with balconies, some having a view of the sea ( on a clear day !). The décor reflected that of the hotel in general, perhaps a little tired. The hotel was very quiet inside with respect to internal plumbing sounds, and so was restful. Some corridor noise very early one morning caused by inconsiderate departing guests was the only downside. We found a lovely sea front promenade with views approx 350 meters away. For eating, there are loads of restaurants in Trani ( 5 miles), particularly at the port. Also some in Bisceglie itself, about 3 miles away. There is a Pizzeria 400 meters up the main road, and seems to be a popular venue for Villa guests. Particularly because there is no need to drink and drive. Go to the sea front near the hotel, and walk along the promenade. Visit Trani-see the old town and port. Plenty of parking at the port, some free. Walk along the harbourfront, and look in the spectacular Cathedral before entering the old town. Visit Bisceglie afterwards for a contrast.- a working harbour, and more run down.5Kms from Bisceglie is an ancient tomb, ‘Dolmen di Chianca’, which is signposted off the Ruvo road. The Gargano peninsula offers some spectacular drives and views in fine weather. Travel by the coast road for spectacular views of the salt lakes, bird sanctuaries, and sea side resorts. Or take the faster SS16.
