Hotel Costa

The Castel del Monte is a 4* hotel set in beutiful park land. Rooms are fine. Dinner was good value in a pleasent restaurant with excellent service. Unfortunately it all fell apart at breakfast. Very little food and limited choice. A disinterested breakfast room serving staff and a Receptionist whose dealt with me by advising me to come back and make the complaint tomorrow! Persistence led eventually to my concerns being adressed and I was given a fullsome apology for the hotel not meeting the expected standard.

The centre of Bari is not over-run with many hotels, and this was the best we could get, and to be honest, it is not all that bad, though it does have its down-falls! To start with I ordered a double-room and was shocked to find me and my wife were sleeping on two camp beds! Secondly, the walls are paper-thin! First night we were kept up till 4 in the morning by guys drinking beer in the hall-way, and then in the morning by people going out of their room and banging the door! Location though, it is great! The staff who checked us in was great, took us right to our room and showed u how everything worked, but the nightstaff are a little to be desired for! Can not see myself returning to Bari any time soon, but not a bad wee hotel is needed!
