Hamburg has never quite caught on as a tourist destination in the manner of Berlin and Munich. Not only does this mean that the city is less crowded with tourists, it also means that those in the know can enjoy very reasonable prices for accommodation. Even the most expensive hotels in Hamburg rarely break £200 per night. Some big international names have branches in the city, such as Raffles and Park Hyatt. There is also a good choice of independent, boutique hotels across town. For travellers on a budget, cheap Hamburg hotels abound. There are a good number of guesthouses and hostels right in the heart of town, as well as some very reasonably-priced one-star hotels.
