Hotel Amadeus Frankfurt

Far From the City The hotel itself is great. The rooms are clean, modern and adequate size. However, the hotel is about a 25 minute train ride (subway stop is a couple of minutes's walk) away from the Frankfurt train station. And if you are driving, there can be traffic in the morning on local streets. Also, they apparently have only one staff member at night. I had a problem with hot water...and the guy told me he was the only one around. So, he couldn't check it out, but instead would just give me a different room (I had already unpacked and stuff)! The hot water eventually came on. I guess it was taking a little longer than usual.

Conditionally acceptable for smokers The staff were exceptionally helpful once I explained that I preferred NOT to have the off-duty staffers stand directly below my open room window and smoke while chatting loudly. The Air Conditioning - doesn’t, so the open windows were essential or the room took on a nasty funk not attributed to the guest. The restaurant was clean and efficient. The location was a bit difficult to get to due to the U-Bahn line that dissects the nearest major cross street. Traveling to downtown Frankfurt was simple, cheap, and convienient. Parking is free and relatively abundant. Traveler's tip on shopping The Hessen Center is a large shopping mall about five minutes’ walk from the hotel’s front door.
