Downtown Hotel Frankfurt

Very friendly people..Close to the underground station(s).Gay friendly but not disturbing the other guests.Good for short stays and fairs. The choises on breakfast buffet is not so much.No shampoo at the bathroom..

Downtown hotel is a gay and straight mixed hotel situated in the gay part of Frankfurt. But it's not more gay than straight people will also be able to enjoy the hotel and the neighbourhood. The location is very good, it's central and not to noisy. The staff is friendly and relaxed, though not always that competent: I had problems with the lack of internet connection and problems with my credit card. On the other hand I was given a late check out at 14.00, which I appreciated a lot. There is no wireless internet connection, though it says so both at hotel.de and at the hotel's own homepage. I travelled together with a work colleague and in none of our two apartments the internet worked. The staff did admit that the internet connection is only working in a few of the apartments, the ones situated at the lowest storeys. And even there, the internet connection in fact comes from the bar below and is not free, except from the first hour. So don't go to Downtown Hotel, if you need to be online. Also to be mentioned as a negative thing with Downtown Hotel is that the kitchens are very poorly equipped. In my kitchen, I had a small pot and two cups, plus a fridge and two boiling plates. It would have been nice with some coffee and tea and a few plates, knifes, forks and spoons.
