Merian Hotel

Overall, our stay was a pleasant one. The webpage portrayed the site accuratley. I would recommend this site becasue it is a good "woking hotel" meaning that it is convenient in many ways. It is an eight minute walk to the main train station in Cologne. The breakfasts were more than adquate. The staff was extremely friendly and accomodating: they secured a fan for us when the weather became hot. This hotel had no air conditioning, so keeping the window open was a bit noisy given its central city location. There is no place to park a car. 10 euros/night would have secured a spot for the car, so we opted to return the rental two days early (with the excellant mass transportation available, the car was no longer necessary). Personnaly, the next visit to Cologne is going to be on a quieter street.

The staff were very friendly and helpful their command of the english language was excellent . The room was spotlessly clean. the car was parked in a secure garage.the walk to the cathderal through the train station only took a couple of minutes. We will be returning

+Every thing at walking distance. Just behind the Hauptbahnhof, and close to the Dom which is almost attached to it and then to the main shopping streets , the old centre, the river Rhine shores. Free parking on the street on weekends.Very good breakfast buffet. Excellent ! -Even with double layer windowglass you still hear the sound of trains passing by. Don't want to spend summer in this place with open windows as there is no airconditioning. Poor TV reception. With all the digital TV promotions in Germany they should consider this in the future.

Easy walking distance to the main rail station [5 mins], city centre and the Dom. Staff were wonderful and made our stay even more enjoyable.

Very close to railway station and city center but quiet. Friendly service, checked out at 5:30 and recieved packed breakfast. Good value for money.

Personnel were absolutely great, everything went smoothly and fast, I like this hotel.
